- Adventure-ready new Dacia Duster and Bigster announced
- New Hybrid 150 4x4 powertrain
- Essentially a power boost for existing ‘Tce 130’ engine
- Full details to be confirmed later this year

The Dacia Duster and Bigster are braced for new adventures - because they’re about to get a new all-wheel drive hybrid powertrain.
Dacia says the new engine is ideal for ‘school runs and commutes, muddy tracks, winter roads and spontaneous escapes’ and makes the Duster and Bigster ‘even more versatile for the journeys that matter most’.
Here’s everything you need to know.

Isn’t there already a 4x4 Duster and Bigster? What’s new about this engine?
You’re correct - you can already lease both the Duster and the Bigster with all-wheel drive.
The existing 4x4 variants of both the Duster and Bigster are underpinned by Dacia’s ‘TCe 130’ powertrain - a mild-hybrid with power of 130hp.
The NEW powertrain is called the ‘hybrid 150 4x4’. It’s another mild-hybrid but comes with power of 150hp and 230 Nm torque - a 20hp boost on what you can get right now.

Dacia says that’ll ‘make everyday adventure even more accessible, with electrified efficiency, confident all-wheel drive traction and automatic convenience’.
The system itself features a new generation 48V mild hybrid system with EV driving capability.
Power will be delivered via a 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox, with paddles behind the steering wheel enabling manual override when drivers want more control.

Are the Dacia Duster and Bigster any good off-road?
Yes - both the Duster and the Bigster have won plaudits for their 4x4 skills.
The all-wheel-drive system includes selectable modes (Auto, Snow, Mud/Sand, Off-road) and hill descent control, which help when traction is low or the terrain gets rough.

Think loose gravel and slippery slopes.
They don't, however, have a low-range transfer case like some serious off-roaders do. So, they're built for light adventures off the beaten track, not crawling you way through a boulder field.

When will the new Dacia Duster and Bigster hybrid 150 4x4 be available to order?
Full UK specifications and timings will be confirmed in the coming months with a proper launch slated for later this year.
A Dacia spokesperson adds: “Built for drivers who want the freedom to take the long way home, head off the beaten track and make the most of every weekend, the upcoming hybrid 150 4x4 will strengthen what Dacia does best: rugged, robust SUVs with the kind of dependable usability that makes adventure part of everyday life.”
