Fancy Porsche Taycan performance for Vauxhall money? Then check out the new Zeekr 7GT, an electric wagon that’s blazing a trail to the UK.
While you might not be familiar with Zeekr, you need to get yourself acquainted, as the manufacturer is set to launch in Britain this year.
It’s a company that falls under the umbrella of Geely, the Chinese heavyweights behind Volvo, Lotus and Polestar.
And this week Zeekr has confirmed that its 7GT (which is already on sale elsewhere in global markets at the ‘007GT’) is being braced for a European debut.
With an asking price that begins at €45,990 (around £40,000), you’re looking at a similar cost to the range-topping Vauxhall Astra Electric Sport Tourer yet the pace of a Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo.
Here’s everything we know so far.

What is the Zeekr 7GT?
The Zeekr 7GT is a fully-electric shooting brake estate that’s set to arrive on the UK leasing scene in 2026.
It has been created with ‘precision and connection in mind’, Zeekr tells us, and combines ‘Chinese technology with European design and soul to deliver a car suited to everyday use’.
It’s underpinned by fast-charging 800V electric tech and will be available with either a 75 kWh battery or larger 100 kWh unit.

While power figures haven’t been confirmed for Europe just yet, the Zeekr 7GT is already on sale elsewhere in the world (badged as the 007GT) and it comes with power of either 421hp (rear-wheel drive) or 637hp (all-wheel drive).
Whichever one you pick, it’ll be rapid - with range-topping models capable of accelerating from 0-62mph in just 3.3 seconds.
Again, range figures haven’t yet been confirmed but you’re looking at a distance of around 400 miles between charges.

Speaking of charging, Zeekr quotes an astonishing speed of 480 kW DC, enabling a 10-80% top up in just 13 minutes.
The caveat here is that public chargers capable of such feats are rare here in the UK, with devices above 350 kW still being rolled out.
There will be five driving modes to choose from, including snow and sport.

What’s the interior of the Zeekr 7GT like?
In the cabin of the Zeekr 7GT you’ll find a 13-inch instrument cluster and 35.5-inch augmented reality head-up display.
There’s a ton of driver assistance and safety systems, including automatic emergency braking, intelligent adaptive cruise control with towing assist and ‘finger-tip parking’ - ie, via an app or by swiping your fingers on the touchscreen. The automated system then takes over and slots into your designated spot.
You also get a decent 456-litre boot, which is slightly down on the VW ID.7 Tourer, Vauxhall Astra Electric Sports Tourer and Peugeot E-308 SW but trumps the Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo.

How much does the Zeekr 7GT cost and when will it launch in the UK?
Prices for the UK are still to be confirmed but in Europe the base RWD model will cost €45,990 while the Long Range RWD Launch Edition is set at €50,990. The most powerful, dual-motor Privilege AWD Launch Edition costs from €57,490.

What cars will the Zeekr 7GT rival?
In terms of rivals, you’ll be looking at top spec versions of the Peugeot E-308 SW and the Vauxhall Astra Electric Sports Tourer, as well as the VW ID.7 Tourer.
The pricier 7GT models, meanwhile, will rival the likes of the BMW i5 Touring and the Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo and Taycan Cross Turismo.
There’s no official dates for Zeekr launching in the UK but it’s widely expected - and could be here by the middle of 2026.
