- All new Nissan Micra will be priced from £22,995
- Costs same as Renault 5
- Launches Sept 1st 2025
- Range of up to 260 miles

The launch of the new Nissan Micra is just around the corner - and it’s set to cost exactly the same as the Renault 5, at £22,995.
The electric Nissan Micra and the Renault 5 are inextricably linked.
They’re very much sibling cars, built thanks to an alliance between Renault and Nissan, and sharing the same ‘AmpR’ electric platform.
Now Nissan has revealed that its Micra will have price parity with the award-winning Renault 5 - with both cars undercutting rivals like the MINI Cooper Electric and Fiat 500e while not being quite as cheap as the Citroen e-C3.
And the other important thing to note for lease customers is that order books open September 1st 2025 - and we’ll bring you leasing costs as soon as we can!

Does the Nissan Micra EV quality for the government electric car grant?
The rejuvenated Micra is expected to qualify for a £1,500 UK government Electric Car Grant - subject to confirmation by the Office of Zero Emission Vehicles.
It means that, ultimately, the Micra could end up being even cheaper than the £22,995 asking price stated here.

What driving range does the Nissan Micra EV have?
The good news is that Nissan has announced a revised range figure for its pipsqueak plug-in hatchback.
When the Micra was first announced we were promised a range of around 253 miles, max.
The Japanese manufacturer says tests have shown the Micra will actually be capable of travelling up to 260 miles between charges, which is 10 miles more than the official 250-mile range of the Renault 5.
That’s worth noting, particularly if you’re torn between the two cars, as there really is a cigarette paper between them.

What trim levels are there with a Nissan Micra EV?
You’ve got three trim grades to choose from; Engage, Advanced, Evolved.
The entry-level Engage models come with a 40 kWh battery that unlocks power of 122 PS and gives you a range of around 192 miles. Rapid DC charging at 80 kW can take the battery from 15-80% full in 30 mins.
Standard-issue kit on the Engage trim includes 18-inch alloys, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, auto air con, 4 speakers and, crucially, a heat pump that helps you eke out the every last drop of range from the battery.

The Advanced trim gives you a choice of either the 40 kWh battery or the larger 52 kWh battery, the latter of which gets 100 kW DC rapid charging. That bigger battery also means more power, at 150 PS.
The Advanced grade unlocks ‘Ionic’ 18-inch alloys, Google services built in to the infotainment system, adaptive cruise control, wireless phone charging, ‘Multisense’ drive modes, ambient lighting, an uprated sound system, front parking sensors and a rear-view camera.
The range-topping Evolve trim (priced from £29,865) enjoys 18-inch Sport alloys, a Harmon Kardon sound system, two-tone paint, the ‘e-Pedal’ system with paddle shifts on the steering wheel, heated front seats and steering wheel, and Nissan’s ‘ProPILOT Assist’ system with Navi-link, which works in conjunction with the adaptive cruise control to proactively adjust your speed depending on the road ahead.

What are the alternatives to a Nissan Micra EV?
The Renault 5 is an obvious comparison, and the Fiat 500e and Citroen e-C3 will also appeal to those looking for an affordable, compact electric hatchback.
The Hyundai Inster is a funky alternative but has just four seats in the back while the Peugeot E-208 is pricier while having a similar electric range figure.
