- Range boost for Peugeot E-208
- Gets max 268-mile range
- For models fitted with 51 kWh battery
- New GT Premium trim also launched
Good news if you’re looking to lease the Peugeot E-208, because a tweak to the powertrain means it’ll now go further than ever on a single charge.
The E-208 is Peugeot’s smallest electric hatchback, a car that’s being challenged by newcomers like the Renault 5 and Citroen e-C3.
Now the French firm has moved to make the E-208 more tempting in the face of stiff competition by improving its electric driving range - which now stands at 268 miles between charges, an improvement of 14 miles.
That’s a good chunk more than you get with the 252-mile Renault 5 and also beats the 266-mile max of the Vauxhall Corsa Electric.
The Peugeot E-208 you’ll need to lease in order to get experience that 268-mile range is one with the larger 51 kWh battery
The standard 7kW and optional 11kW onboard chargers have also been upgraded with bi-directional charging capabilities. That means the E-208 gets V2L (vehicle to load) skills for the first time, which lets you power external devices using the car’s battery.
Besides the E-208’s longer legs, Peugeot has also introduced a new trim level, called ‘GT Premium’.
It’s a range-topper, and it’s been launched for both the Peugeot 208 (including the E-208) and the larger Peugeot 2008 (including the E-2008).
You can expect Alcantara upholstery, heated seats, 3D sat nav, wireless phone charging, adaptive cruise control and a front parking camera.
Prices for the GT PREMIUM trim start from £28,295 for the Peugeot 208.
