Vauxhall has unveiled a new 280 hp version of its electric Mokka that’s built to tackle the world’s gnarliest rally stages.
The regular electric Mokka gets max power of 156 hp and takes a leisurely 9 seconds to accelerate from 0-62 mph. You can lease a Vauxhall Mokka Electric with Select right now.
This new Mokka GSE Rally uses the same 54 kWh battery as the standard Mokka but dials things up to 11, with Bilstein rally suspension, a racing gearbox, and a lightweight chassis added to the mix.

The Mokka GSE Rally is a prototype for now but has been built according to the FIA’s new eRally5 regulations so could be going sideways on gravel tracks imminently.
It could also offer a glimpse at a sportier road-going Mokka being launched in the future, with Vauxhall having revived its GSE (‘Grand Sport Electric’) badged cars.
The exterior of the Mokka GSE Rally boasts ‘OMG! GSE’ lettering as well as bright yellow brake callipers and a roof air intake.

A Vauxhall spokesperson adds: “A multi-plate limited-slip differential and a racing gearbox, together with reinforced drive shafts and wheel hubs, provide powerful propulsion. The specifically designed lightweight chassis combines perfectly tuned rally suspension from Bilstein consisting of reinforced McPherson struts and uniball mounts on the front axle, as well as a rigid rear axle with modified springs and dampers.”
It gets a roll cage, rally seats and six-point harnesses.
Rebecca Reinermann, Vice-President, Marketing at Opel-Vauxhall, said: “The Mokka GSE Rally will set Vauxhall Motorsport fans’ pulses racing and deliver real ‘OMG!’ moments. The electric rally prototype proves that our GSE sub-brand is going to the next level in 2025 with electric thrills and high-level performance true to our rich motorsport heritage.”

You can’t lease the Mokka GSE Rally, but you can still lease the Vauxhall Astra GSe, a powerful plug-in hybrid with lowered sport suspension, Koni dampers, and 225 hp.
