In March I ordered a car advertised in stock from Select Car Leasing, NISSAN_QASHQAI. When, I spoke to the dealer they informed me that the car in stock had grey metalized paint and it would increase the cost by approximately £600. Since I needed the car for April, I agreed. After several emails and phone calls I was reassured that the car was in stock and ready to be delivered in April. On the 5th of April however I had an email saying that it was going to be delayed till the end of May. Despite my disappointment I continued with the order and received yet a further delay in May with another email saying that the car will be delayed till July. Whilst I considered cancelling my order I persisted with hope until I received the latest email declaring that the car would be now delayed till September. The reason I was given for the delay was that parts of the car came from abroad and they had not arrived yet. This left me in shock considering that when I ordered the car in March I was told the car was already in stock and ready for delivery. When I questioned the delay in the order, I was given the following 2 options: One, I could cancel the order, leaving me with no car, no future order and having wasted several months waiting for a car that would never arrive. Two they could arrange me to have a hire car with the following conditions: The hire car would cost £350 per month in comparison to £180 that I had agreed on my order. I had to pick up the car from Reading, 200 miles away from where I live, with no possibility of delivery. This has left me with no car and having extreme difficulty to commute to work. Throughout the full experience I have found this company very unreliable and they have struggled to deliver on their promises. They do not appear to cope well with small individual orders. Their web page is also very misleading with the prices, and you seem to never get the price that they advertise. I believe that this should be checked by the regulatory body. Finally the company appears to treat their customers with contempt where they make up excuses to cover their incompetency. Whatever went wrong with my original stock order should have been be transparently explained. This would have saved a lot of time and this complaint would not have been necessary.

As an introducing broker and we are dependent upon 3rd parties such as our supplying dealerships and manufactures to supply our vehicles. As such, we are reliant upon them to provide us accurate lead times in relation to their vehicles. They also provide us with updates and notification of any delays to a customer’s delivery directly though our online customer portal. It is worth noting, that the manufactures and supplying dealerships do withhold their right to amend the delivery dates at their discretion, which does in turn affect the information we provide. Due to this delivery dates can change and this does sadly fall outside of our control. Despite this, we will always aim to keep our customers updated with the most accurate and up to date information as soon as it becomes available to us and we understand that delivery delays of this nature can present an unacceptable level of inconvenience to our customers. Select will provide all the assistance we can to our customers, in order to help keep them mobile during any delivery delays and offer what suitable alternatives are available to us. We do take all feedback from our customers seriously and to wish to make sure that our customers are satisfied with our service and provided with accurate and up to date information on delivery lead times. We always want to make sure that we have provided all necessary information to our customers, in order for them to make an informed decision before placing an order.
