Why lease an Audi?
Audi's motoring history is as rich as it is complex. It began with an entrepreneur called August Horch, the man responsible for coining the Audi name. 'Horch' in German means 'to listen', and when you translate that phrase to Latin you get 'Audi'.
The firm's foundations date all the way back to 1909, when Audi was a member of a quartet of manufacturers (Audi, DKW, Horch and Wanderer Werke) who merged to form Auto Union AG. That coming-together inspired Audi's famous logo of four interlocking rings.
By the 1940s, however, Audi had faltered and the manufacturer lay dormant until 1965 when it came back with a bang (brought into the fold of the Volkswagen Group) with a saloon simply known as 'The Audi'. The rest, as they say, is history.
Motorists have been treated to a steady stream of timeless classics ever since, from the Quattro to the TT, as Audi became a byword for precision engineering, refined design, and technological innovation.
