The A5 Saloon was born out of a naming convention overhaul by Audi in the middle of 2024, where vehicles with an even were destined for a fully-electric powertrain while those with an odd number were given traditional combustion engines.
The A5 Saloon is, to all intents and purposes, the Audi A4 repurposed and revitalised for the modern era. It also replaces the outgoing A5 Sportback hatchback in Audi’s line-up.
