- Electric Jeep Compass set for launch
- Will be available with incoming ‘First Edition’ models
- Power of 213 hp and 310-mile range
- Will sit alongside e-Hybrid full hybrid
- Prices begin from £35,700 for e-Hybrid and £39,200 for the EV

Here’s your first look at the all-new electric Jeep Compass, which will launch later this year.
The Compass is Jeep’s mid-size SUV, sitting ahead of the smaller Renegade and larger Grand Cherokee.
The Jeep Compass is already available to lease with a 48 volt hybrid powertrain or more potent plug-in hybrid engine.

And when order books open for the incoming Jeep Compass ‘First Edition’ models in Q3 2025, the rugged SUV will also be available with a fully-electric powertrain for the first time.
The front-wheel drive First Edition electric variant will be underpinned by a 74 kWh battery that unlocks power of 213 hp and a range of up to 310 miles between charges. Rapid charging at 160 kW DC can deliver a 20-80% energy replenish in around 30 minutes.
But Jeep says that two other electric models will be available further down the road (while not revealing precise powertrain details).

One of those EVs will be two-wheel drive, have increased power of 230 hp, and will be able to travel up to 402 miles between trips to the plug.
The other is an go-anywhere all-wheel drive Jeep Compass that ‘offers all the off-road capabilities expected of a Jeep’, the manufacturer tells us, while enjoying a range of up to 372 miles between charges.
The incoming Jeep Compass First Edition e-Hybrid makes use of a 1.2-litre petrol engine and 21 kWh electric motor for a maximum power output of 145 hp. This powertrain offers electric driving at low speeds in urban areas without the need for charging.

Jeep will also improve the Jeep Compass’ plug-in hybrid powertrain. As it stands, the all-wheel drive Compass PHEV has a range of up to 30 miles using electricity alone.
That EV range will be boosted to 51 miles - which is good news for anyone thinking about leasing one as a company car and who will have Benefit in Kind (BIK) costs at the forefront of their minds.
Whichever Compass you choose to get behind the wheel of, it’ll be adept at tackling some tough terrain.

A Jeep spokesperson says: “With a ground clearance of up to 200mm, approach angle of 20 degrees, breakover angle of 15 degrees and departure angle of 26 degrees, the new Compass is equipped to handle tough terrains with ease. The vehicle’s water fording depth up to 470mm (408mm on e-Hybrid) highlights its ability to tackle the most challenging environments.”
Jeep’s ‘Selec-terrain’ system - which lets you toggle between drive modes depending on what’s going on under the wheels - is standard across all versions.
Besides the new powertrains, the new Jeep Compass will get some design tweaks, too.

The cabin enjoys more space, with 55mm of additional legroom, while the luggage space has gone up to a max of 550 litres (depending on the model).
Creature comforts available include heated seats and steering wheel, dual-zone air conditioning, personalised ambient lighting, keyless entry and go, a 16-inch infotainment screen, and Level 2 Autonomous driving (which combines features like adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist).
With the fully electric Jeep Compass, cabin preconditioning and a heat pump will come as standard.

A Jeep spokesperson adds: “New Compass is set to redefine expectations in the most competitive passenger car segment, which accounts for almost a quarter of the total European market, with a full range of powertrains to give customers freedom of choice and to meet every need.”
Rivals to the Jeep Compass are many, but include the Nissan Qashqai, VW Tiguan, Peugeot E-3008 and Kia EV3.
