- New Lotus Emira Turbo revealed
- Entry-level model costs from £79,500
- Britain’s affordable supercar now even better value
- Range-topping V6 SE also launched

This is the new entry-level Lotus Emira - and the ‘Turbo’ trim makes Britain’s most sought-after junior supercar even more attractive.
The Emira, first launched in 2021, straddles the world of ‘sports cars’ and ‘supercars’ while occupying a really special niche.
It’s a mid-engine track weapon you can also use as a daily driver, and a grand tourer that also gets a decent 359 litres of luggage space (when you combine the boot with the area behind the front seats).

Lotus itself describes the Emira as a ‘junior supercar’ and, despite looking like a baby Ferrari or McLaren, the Emira is a heck of a lot cheaper and makes do with power of up to 400 hp and a 0-62 mph acceleration time of around 4.3 seconds.
That’s not jaw-dropping in the grand scheme of things. The Audi RS3 Sportback, for example, has 400 hp, can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 3.8 seconds and costs from £61,785.
But you can bet your bottom dollar you get more admiring glances when behind the wheel of an Emira compared with a fast German hatchback.

And with this new Turbo trim bringing the cost down to £79,500, the Emira becomes an even more attractive proposition.
The Turbo model is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine borrowed from AMG Mercedes-Benz and which develops 360 hp. It’ll launch you from 0-62 mph in 4.4 seconds and is married to an 8-speed DCT gearbox.
You get a ton of kit fitted as standard, including 12-way electrically adjustable seats with memory, a 190W audio system, and wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Besides the cut-price Turbo model, Lotus has also launched a new range-topper in the form of the Emira V6 SE (above).
The V6 models are underpinned by a 3.5-litre V6 engine with 400 hp, mated to a six-speed manual gearbox with LSD (Limited Slip Differential) as standard or an optional automatic transmission. With a V6 you’ll get from 0-62 mph in 4.3 seconds.
The Emira V6 SE is finished in Zinc Grey as standard and also features 20-inch forged alloy wheels, red brake callipers, Alcantara upholstery and sport pedals.

Prices for the Emira V6 SE start at £96,500.
A Lotus spokesperson tells us: “Visually dramatic and sculpted like a true exotic, the Emira features a wide stance, muscular proportions, and a low-slung cabin that captures the spirit of a modern supercar. Yet it remains practical and refined —making it a compelling alternative in the world of high-performance sports cars.”
