This heavenly Jeep Avenger is built for stargazing - and even comes with its own roof-mounted telescope.
The celestial creation is a one-off designed in conjunction with DarkSky UK, a non-profit organisation that fights light pollution while encouraging more folks to gaze upwards.

The Avenger Stargazer features a smart telescope that’s fitted into the sunroof. Set it up, and you can control the gadget and see what it’s seeing via a tablet - all from the comfort of the SUV’s cabin.
The custom Stargazer features an eye-catching exterior wrap that depicts planets and constellations, including the Milky Way and Jupiter.

Meanwhile there’s also a custom-built, integrated cabinet fitted into the boot that houses binoculars, red-light headtorches, and weatherproof clothing.
Kris Cholmondeley, Managing Director of Jeep UK, said: “At Jeep, outdoor exploration and freedom are at the heart of what we do. Through this collaboration, we hope to encourage people to get outside and to look up at the night sky, as well as take measures to reduce their light pollution. Moreover, working alongside DarkSky UK allows us to draw attention to Dark Sky Reserves, helping Brits to find their nearest designated stargazing location with our simple downloadable guide.”

The Stargazer has been launched to coincide with a new trim level for the Jeep Avenger - called ‘Summit SkyView’. The grade builds on the existing Summit trim but adds a sunroof, sat nav and hands-free tailgate.
Summit SkyView models are available on petrol and e-Hybrid engines - but not with a fully-electric powertrain.

It also comes as the UK prepares for the Geminid meteor shower- a dazzling display of shooting stars that’s due to peak in the early hours of Sunday 14 December.

Where are the best places in the UK to go stargazing?
Select Van Leasing has compiled an extensive list of the UK’s best stargazing spots, ranked on a number of factors including the location’s Dark Sky status.
According to our run-down, Eryri National Park (Snowdonia) offers an unrivalled view of the heavens and topped the list overall.

Stunning Llyn y Dywarchen, a mountain-flanked lake to the west of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), was highlighted as one of the most magical spots.
Scotland’s Cairngorms National Park ranked second in our list and has many stargazing locations to choose from, not least the Tomintoul and Glenlivet International Dark Sky Park.
Meanwhile Northumberland National Park completed the top three. Kielder Observatory is a must if you’re visiting that area of northern England and runs stargazing events throughout the year.

What are the best tips for stargazing in the UK?
Here’s a list of ideas that can help make any stargazing trip an awe-inspiring success:
Try an app: There are a range of stargazing and astronomy apps - such as Star Walk and SkySafari - that will help you locate and even photograph objects in the night sky.
Binoculars and telescopes: Binoculars are the best starting point for beginner stargazers as they are portable, easy to use, and provide a wide field of view. Once you’re comfortable and ready for an upgrade, a telescope will significantly enhance your experience.
Tripods and Mounts: A stable platform is essential for a clear and steady view of the stars. Whether using binoculars, a telescope, or a camera, a good tripod or mount is a necessity.
Red torch: When stargazing, your eyes need time to adjust to the darkness, and a bright white torchlight can interfere with your night vision, so use a red torch instead.
Warm clothes and comfort: It goes without saying that stargazing at this time of year requires warm and comfortable clothing, so make sure to wear plenty of layers during your stargazing session.
