- Range Rover Sport Electric revealed
- Will deliver ‘effortless, visceral performance’, says Range Rover
- Goes on sale later this year
- Will sit alongside the full fat Range Rover Electric

The Range Rover Sport Electric has officially arrived - and here it is emerging from a jumbo jet before barrelling over steep inclines!
After a series of delays while the firm perfected its products, Range Rover is now preparing to launch two fully-fledged EVs.
We’ve already seen the full fat Range Rover Electric, promised since 2024.

And now that car’s smaller, more driver-focused sibling - the Range Rover Sport Electric - is gearing up for launch, too, with order books for both cars set to open before the end of 2026.
Details are thin on the ground just now, but here’s everything we know about the Range Rover Sport Electric so far.

What is the Range Rover Sport Electric?
You can already lease the Range Rover Sport with a plug-in hybrid powertrain offering around 74 miles of range in EV mode.
But this is the fully electric variant - and a premium SUV that’ll take on the likes of the Lotus Eletre, BMW iX5, and Porsche Cayenne Electric.

Range Rover says the Sport Electric will ‘redefine the luxury electric SUV segment’ while delivering ‘effortless, visceral performance’.
So, you can expect go-anywhere all-wheel drive, enabling it to scamper across any terrain, as well as new levels of comfort and quietness.

Why is the Range Rover Sport Electric emerging from a jumbo jet?!
The Sport Electric was revealed at Goodwood and the latest jumbo jet photocall is a callback to a similar stunt in 2013 when journos - including our own Phil Huff - piloted the latest Range Rover Sport through a Boeing 747 at an airfield in Gloucestershire.
You can watch a clip of it here.
It proves the Range Rover Sport Electric is capable of scaling massive hills and teases the EVs advanced new chassis tune.

What powertrain and range will the Range Rover Sport Electric have?
We don’t know for sure just yet, but the smart money says the Sport Electric will have the same underpinnings as the larger Range Rover Electric.

That means a 118 kWh battery, power of around 550 PS, and a range of around 330 miles between charges. You can also expect rapid 350 kW charging.
Air suspension and four-wheel steering will also be a feature of the Range Rover Sport Electric.
Again, we’ve got no confirmed prices just yet, but you can imagine it costing from around £100,000.
