Price cut for Audi A3

  • Price reduction for Audi A3
  • Entry level A3 Sportback will start at £28,650 (OTR)
  • More than £2,000 reduction on cheapest A3 Sportback right now
  • Raft of other updates with new curved display
  • On sale end of September 2026

Audi has just made its A3 that bit more tempting by shaving two grand off the asking price.

The A3 is available in multiple flavours, from the regular Sportback hatch to the fire-breathing RS 3 Saloon.

You can also get your mitts on the plug-in hybrid A3, which brings you an EV driving range of up to 88 miles between charges.

The German manufacturer is now readying to unleash an updated family of A3 models which covers all of the existing body types and powertrains.

And the big news is that there’s a new entry-level trim - called Technik - which brings the price of the cheapest A3 Sportback down from £30,895 to £28,650.

Decent. And that price reduction should be reflected in lease costs, too.

The new Audi A3, S3 and RS 3 go sale at the end of September 2026.

What else is new with the updated Audi A3?

A swanky curved display and chunky physical buttons is what.

All A3 models will now enjoy a twin-screen curved display featuring a 11.9-inch virtual cockpit (that sits behind the steering wheel) and a 12.8-inch ‘MMI’ infotainment touchscreen.

All steering wheels in the upgraded A3 models now feature a physical scroll wheel integrated into the multifunction buttons for less faffing about in menu screens.

Is the new Audi A3 smarter than before?

Yes, the Audi A3 is being handed much more sophisticated driver assistance capabilities.

The ‘adaptive cruise assist plus’ tech is available with the S3 Vorsprung and RS 3 Carbon Vorsprung and combines adaptive cruise control with active lane guidance.

It can also brake at red lights, and if you don’t come to a complete stop, it’ll drive on when the lights go green.

There’s new parking tech for the S3 and RS 3, too, including remote parking and trained parking.

How powerful is the new Audi A3 range?

The powertrain range remains pretty much the same.

Petrol and diesel engines are available with outputs of 116 PS and 150 PS, while the A3 e-hybrid plug-in hybrid delivers 204 PS and offers an electric driving range of up to 88 miles.

Audi says the battery can be recharged in around 30 minutes using DC fast charging, while towing capacity has increased to 1,700 kg.

The S3 retains its 333 PS turbocharged four-cylinder engine, while the RS 3 continues with its 400 PS five-cylinder unit.

Both feature quattro all-wheel drive and Audi’s torque splitter technology, along with new Singleframe grille badging and distinctive digital daytime running light signatures.

Prices start at £28,650 (OTR) for the A3 Sportback, the A3 Sportback e-hybrid is available from £39,980 (OTR). The Audi S3 starts at £49,960 (OTR). The Audi RS 3 is available from £63,655 (OTR).
