Ferrari Purosangue - now even sportier

  • Ferrari Purosangue Handling Speciale revealed
  • Optional pack that hones the active suspension
  • Sharper acceleration and more decisive gear changes
  • Exterior style flourishes
  • Uprated model expected to cost around £400,000

Ferrari has made the four-door Purosangue even sportier by offering a new ‘Handling Speciale’ pack.

It’s a bolt-on to the regular Purosangue that stiffens the suspension, improves throttle response, makes the gear changes sharper, and improves the in-cabin engine noise.

You also get exterior style flourishes like unique alloy wheels, carbon side shields, matt black exhaust tips and a black rear Prancing Horse emblem.

How does the Handling Speciale improve the Ferrari Purosangue?

The Ferrari Purosangue - the Italian firm’s first ever four-door four-seater - is already a serious bit of kit.

It’s powered by a naturally-aspirated 6.5-litre V12 engine positioned in a front‑mid position with the gearbox mounted at the rear and which chucks out 725 PS and 716 Nm torque.

It’s enough to accelerate the Purosange from 0-62mph in 3.3 seconds and then on to an autobahn-trouncing top speed of 192mph.

Those stats haven’t changed with the Handling Speciale pack.

But what has changed is the way that power is delivered, and how the suspension adapts to driver inputs.

The active suspension has been recalibrated to reduce body movements by 10% and ‘deliver a distinctly more compact feel’, says Ferrari.

Gear shift strategies have been revised, with quicker response times and more decisive gear changes, particularly in the Manettino ‘Race’ and ‘ESC‑Off’ modes.

Ferrari tells us: “The effect is especially evident during acceleration manoeuvres, where the system prioritises a sharper sensation of thrust. In manual mode, shifts become more sporting at medium‑to‑high engine speeds (above 5,500 rpm), increasing driver engagement.”

There’s more engine noise piped into the cabin, particularly at start-up and under acceleration, while you also get diamond‑cut finish alloys, carbon‑fibre side shields, matt black exhaust tips, a black rear Prancing Horse emblem, and a dedicated interior plaque identifying the configuration.

Ferrari adds: “The introduction of this new configuration enhances the sporting spirit of a project that has radically transformed the global landscape of luxury high‑riding sports cars, while preserving its identity as a vehicle capable of combining the versatility of a four‑seater with the dynamic behaviour typical of Ferrari front‑mid‑engined cars.”

How much does the Ferrari Purosangue Handling Speciale cost?

Ferrari isn’t telling us how much the Handling Speciale pack costs, instead saying it’s available on request.

But the regular Purosangue costs from around £360,000 before you start adding options and the Handling Speciale model is expected to cost around £400,000.

When it comes to rivals, the Purosangue swims the same waters as ultra-luxury vehicles like the Aston Martin DBX707 and the Lamborghini Urus.
