Ford has revamped its electric Capri - and an aggressive new ‘Collection’ model has joined the fold.
The iconic Capri was reinvented as a battery-powered SUV back in 2024, a move that prompted some hand-wringing among aficionados who loved the sporty coupe of old.
Ford has now moved to appease fans of the original by offering the Capri Collection, which arrives with go-faster stripes, a funky new interior, and an aggressive body kit.
Ford hasn’t revealed pricing or full specs just yet, but it’ll be available to lease imminently.

What is the Ford Capri Collection?
The Capri Collection is Ford’s homage to the touring car racers from the 1970s and is described as a ‘heritage-inspired special edition’.
It comes with a ‘Tribute Blue’ paint scheme and optional black stripes and also gets deeper front and rear valances, side skirts, and a rear spoiler - all finished in black.
You can also opt for new 21-inch alloys finished in satin black that ‘create the most assertive Capri to date’, says Ford.

Inside, the Capri Collection is finished in Black Onyx upholstery with blue flourishes on the lower soundbar and seatbelts, while there’s a black and blue speckle effect across the dashboard and centre console.
The seats get a vertical stripe, which mirrors the exterior, and is another nod to the Capri’s motorsport heritage.

How powerful is the Ford Capri Collection?
Interestingly, while the Ford Capri Collection is designed to be the most aggressive-looking car in the range, it won’t actually be the most powerful.
While an all-wheel drive, 340 PS powertrain is already up for grabs, the Capri Collection will make do with a 285 PS set-up that’s underpinned by a 79 kWh battery.
Expect 0-62mph to go by in around 6.4 seconds.

What about the regular Ford Capri? Has that also been updated?
Yes, Ford has tweaked what’s on offer with the regular Capri, besides the introduction of the sporty Collection model.
The Standard Range models have been handed a new battery that increases the range by up to 43 miles (to 288 miles) and also delivers more torque for stronger acceleration.
Power for the Standard Capri now stands at 190 PS (up from around 170 PS) and 350 Nm torque and allows it to sprint from 0-62mph in 8.0 seconds (up from the previous 8.7 seconds).
There are updates when it comes to tech, too.

The Intelligent Adaptive Cruise system now includes Traffic Light and Sign Recognition while Ford has added Vehicle-to-Load skills to the Capri’s armoury (there’s an outlet in the boot or you can plug an adapter into the charging port).
There’s also an expanded list of driver assistance tech, including the ‘Park Assist’ function, which can accelerate, brake and steer into your chosen spot.
