- New Fiat Grizzly revealed
- Heading to the UK early 2027
- Rugged, compact SUV to rival the Vauxhall Frontera
- Petrol, hybrid and EV powertrains
- Could have the biggest boot in its class
- No word on pricing just yet
Fiat is about to add a new bear to its ursine-inspired line-up in the form of this, the new Grizzly SUV.
It’s probably perfect for nipping to the shops to pick up some salmon…
The Fiat Grizzly is the big brother to the Fiat Grand Panda and it’ll share a platform with other Stellantis products like the Citroen C3 Aircross and the Vauxhall Frontera.
It’s also a bit more compact than another rugged stablemate, the Jeep Compass (pictured below)
Here’s what we know so far.

Is the Fiat Grizzly fully electric?
Yes and no. An electric powertrain will be up for grabs with the Fiat Grizzly but you’ll also have a choice of hybrid and traditional petrol engines - similar to what you can get with the Vauxhall Frontera and Fiat Grande Panda.

Who is the Fiat Grizzly aimed at?
Like the Fiat Grande Panda, the Grizzly is designed to appeal to family and lifestyle customers who want cool, affordable motoring.
There are two versions of the Grizzly to choose from; the regular SUV and the more coupe-shaped Grizzly Fastback.
Fiat says the SUV variant is ‘naturally suited to family life’ while its ‘upright, compact proportions maximize interior volume and practicality, especially in height and cabin space’.

The Grizzly Fastback, on the other hand, offers a ‘more refined, expressive look’ and you get a longer boot for cargo-carrying purposes.
Fiat also says that, in general, the Grizzly will have a ‘best-in-class boot capacity’.
The Italian firm hasn’t actually told us what that luggage space will measure, but says it’ll be a key element of the car’s positioning.

What are the main rivals to the Fiat Grizzly?
When the Fiat Grizzly eventually becomes available to lease in the UK (likely early 2027) it’ll compete with the aforementioned Citroen C3 Aircross and Vauxhall Frontera, as well as the Dacia Duster, the slightly larger Dacia Bigster.
It’ll also do battle with more mainstream options like the Kia Sportage and Nissan Qashqai.
