Fiat has expanded its Scudo range with a new Onyx edition, a high-spec Crew Van that blends its everyday practicality with a more distinctive, sporting style.
Sitting at the top of the Scudo line-up, the Onyx is aimed squarely at owner-operators and small businesses who want a van that doubles as a comfortable daily driver. It follows the current Stellantis trend for creating sporting versions of its workaday vans, following on from the Citroen Dispatch VTR, Peugeot Expert Sport and Vauxhall Vivaro GS, but the Onyx brings Fiat’s own styling and colour touches to the mix.
Finished in metallic Cinema Black, the Scudo Onyx gets a deep front splitter, lowered side skirts, a reshaped rear bumper, 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels, and a roof spoiler accented in bright yellow. Don’t think of ordering one if subtlety is high on your list of desires.
The cab gets a full eco-leather and suede interior with contrasting yellow and blue stitching, alongside comfort upgrades such as dual-zone climate control, heated driver’s seat and steering wheel, keyless entry and start, and wireless phone charging.
Two versions are on offer. There’s a 2.0-litre BlueHDi diesel with 180hp and an eight-speed automatic gearbox, or a 136hp electric e-Scudo model with a 75kWh battery capable of up to 230 miles (WLTP) between charges.
Available now, the diesel Scudo Onyx Crew Van is priced from £45,990 plus VAT, while the electric e-Scudo Onyx costs £50,940 plus VAT after the Plug-in Van Grant — both marginally higher than the mechanically identical Citroen Dispatch VTR.
