- Dacia Duster Cargo returns!
- Car-derived van gets hybrid power
- Payload of up to 430kg
- Up to 1,500kg towing capacity
- Prices start at £22,995
Dacia is bringing back the Duster Cargo, a factory-built van version of its latest SUV, blending rugged style and hybrid power with everyday usability and light commercial capabilities.
The transformation from family car to working van is simple. At the factory, Dacia removes the rear seats from the regular Duster SUV and replaces them with a completely flat wooden load floor, finished in a durable protective layer. A full-height mesh bulkhead separates the cab from the cargo space, while four lashing points make tying down loads easy.
Opaque film on the rear windows and a removable load cover keep whatever’s in the back out of sight, while rubber mats provide extra protection for the floor.
The result is a cargo area offering up to 1,149 litres of load volume and a payload of up to 430kg, depending on spec. Some models will tow up to 1,500kg, too.

Hybrid power
Dacia is offering two engine options for the Duster Cargo, both with hybrid power. The entry model is the Mild Hybrid 130 4x4, which has a 1.2-litre petrol engine assisted by a 48-volt electric motor. Working together, there’s 130hp and 230Nm of torque available, with power going to all four wheels.
A more potent 1.8-litre model, the Hybrid 155, pairs its petrol engine with two electric motors and a small battery. Despite the increase in performance, economy has also improved, with up to 59mpg promised.

A 4x4 van?
Yes, although while the Mild Hybrid 130 model does have all-wheel-drive, it’s not going to be conquering the Andes. However, with 217mm of ground clearance, five different terrain control modes, hill descent control, and wheel-arch protection finished in Dacia’s new tough Starkle material, it’s equipped for more off-road work than many rivals.
Despite its rugged positioning, Dacia hasn’t skimped on equipment. The Cargo is sold in a single, generously equipped Expression trim, which includes 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, roof bars, LED headlights, and tinted windows.
There’s also a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7.0-inch digital instrument panel, air conditioning, an electric parking brake, and multiple storage areas.

Prices start at £22,995 plus VAT for the Mild Hybrid 130 4x4, rising to £23,595 plus VAT for the hybrid 155 4x2. Orders are open now, with the first UK deliveries expected before the end of 2025.
