- Two new one-off MINI models revealed
- Part of collab with Deus Ex Machina
- The Skeg: electric MINI inspired by surf culture
- The Machina: Petrol track monster
- Both based on MINI John Cooper Works cars

Oof yes - check out these stunning new one-off MINI models, revealed at the IAA Mobility 2025 motor show in Munich, Germany.
The show cars have been created as part of a collaboration between MINI and uber-cool lifestyle brand Deus Ex Machina.

In case you’re not familiar, Deus Ex Machina is an Australian-born lifestyle and clothing brand steeped in custom motorcycle, car, surf, and skateboarding culture.
There are two new one-off MINIs to drool over - both based on the existing petrol and electric John Cooper Works models, which you can lease right now with Select Car Leasing.
Here’s the lowdown:

The Skeg

The Skeg is fully electric and gets the same 258 hp as the regular, battery-powered John Cooper Works model.
It’s described as clean, minimal and rebellious and takes its inspiration from surf culture.

There are wide fenders and an illuminated front grille, while semi-transparent fiberglass panels strip 15% of the car’s weight and enhance aerodynamic performance.

The ‘Flex Tip Surf Spoiler’ at the back apes the concave shape of the underside of a surfboard - and there are tension straps across the roof to stow your own board.

The cabin is stripped back, clad in neoprene upholstery, and ‘prioritises purpose over polish’, says MINI. There’s even a special tray to stash your soggy wetsuit!
The Machina

The Machina is your track-inspired, petrol-powered model, packing the same 2.0-litre petrol engine as the standard 231 hp John Cooper Works hot hatch.

There are four additional headlights mounted on the bonnet, which pay tribute to MINI’s rally sport roots.

At the rear, the diffuser draws inspiration from the MINI JCW race car that ripped up the Nurburgring and there’s a Can-Am motorsport style rear spoiler.

The cabin is awash with red, white and black colours and features a 5-point racing harness, roll cage, raw aluminium floor plates, stripped back door panels, and a waxed fabric dash.

There are also plenty of the classic MINI toggle switches lease customers will be familiar with.

Stefan Richmann, Head of MINI, says: “MINI models have always been characterized by a blend of creative design and motorsport dynamics. Thanks to our collaboration with Deus Ex Machina, we are taking this philosophy to a new level and setting exciting new trends for fans and motorsport enthusiasts. The partners are united by their ‘passion for machines, innovation and creativity’ and an authentic relationship with their own community.”
