- Outdoorsy family car with 600-litre boot
- Hybrid and mild hybrid powertrains
- All-wheel drive option
- Arrives late 2026 priced from under £25,000

In the market for a practical estate the moonlights as an SUV? Say hello to the new Dacia Striker.
The Striker is a unique crossover that blends the best bits of estate, SUV and saloon bodytypes.

It’s longer than the Dacia Bigster SUV but sits squatter to the road, while it’s also roomier than the smaller Dacia Duster.

It’s got similar proportions to cars like the Subaru Outback or the new Audi A6 Allroad, but considerably cheaper than those premium rivals, with an asking price of ‘under £25,000’, according to Dacia.
The genre-defying Striker will compete against other so-called ‘C-Segment’ (ie, family-sized) vehicles like the Skoda Octavia Estate, Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer estate, or the incoming Kia K4 Sportswagon, while also competing with mid-sized SUVs like the Kia Sportage and Nissan Qashqai.
It arrives late 2026 - and here’s everything you need to know.

What is the Dacia Striker?
The Striker is Dacia’s attempt to offer something a bit different to the usual slew of SUVs.

It’s an estate-SUV-saloon hybrid with a raked windscreen, elongated roofline and inclined rear window that’s ‘inspired by the elegance of saloons and estates’, says Dacia.

At 4.62m long, it’s lengthier than the Dacia Bigster but gets similar ground clearance to that of a typical SUV (20cm for the 4x4 and 19cm for the 4x2).

The Dacia Striker also sits closer to the road than most C-Segment SUVs, which improves aerodynamics and makes it more efficient.

How practical is the Dacia Striker?
Dacia says there’s room for five passengers and their luggage for long journeys and the Striker is a car built with proper usability in mind.

You get a boot that measures up to 600 litres, which Dacia says is ‘among the best in the C-segment’.
For comparison purposes, the Skoda Octavia Estate enjoys a larger 640-litre boot while the Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer weighs in at up to 597 litres (you get less space with the plug-in hybrid).

Is the Dacia Striker electric or hybrid?
For now at least, the Dacia Striker is a hybrid - not fully electric.

The ‘Hybrid 155’ powertrain is a full hybrid that’s allied to front-wheel drive. A 1.8-litre petrol engine combines with two electric motors and a 1.4 kWh battery for power of 155 PS.
Dacia says the Striker is able to remain in all-electric mode up to 80% of the time in the city and has CO2 emissions of less than 100g/km.

Your other option is the ‘Hybrid 150 4x4’ powertrain which, as you might gather, is four-wheel drive and offers power of 150 PS.
Unlike the Hybrid 155, the 150 4x4 is a 48V mild hybrid that uses a 1.2-litre petrol engine on the front axle and an electric motor at the rear.

You also get various drive modes, including ‘Snow’, ‘Mud/Sand’ and ‘Off-Road’ for some light all-terrain action.

What trim levels are available with the Dacia Striker?
When it becomes available to order later in 2026, the Striker will come in four different trims.

Here’s a quick overview:
Essential: Entry-level option. Gets 17-inch steel wheels, roof bars, 10.1-inch touchscreen, 7-inch digital cluster, smartphone mirroring, rear parking sensors, rear view camera.
Expression: Adds 17-inch alloys, dual-zone auto air con, electric parking braking, centre console with armrest, two USB ports in the rear.
Extreme: This is the one built for the great outdoors. It adds copper-coloured accents for the exterior and interior, a panoramic sunroof, larger 18-inch alloys, washable upholstery, rubber floor and boot mats, hill descent control, a larger 10-inch instrument panel, sat nav, and a 3D sound system.
Journey: The range-topper. Here you enjoy an auto tailgate, heated front seats and steering wheel, wireless phone charging, and more.
