Mitsubishi will return to the UK market in summer 2026, with importer International Motors (IM Group) set to bring new models back to showrooms less than five years after the brand’s withdrawal.
And while nothing is confirmed yet, Select Van Leasing has been told that the Mitsubishi L200 is among the vehicles being actively considered.
That alone is significant.
The L200 is one of the best-known pick-ups in the UK, with a long-standing following among trades, fleet customers and rural users. With the latest generation already on sale in global markets, the timing lines up perfectly with Mitsubishi’s relaunch window.
Despite the benefit-in-kind tax shake-up earlier this year, the UK remains a major pick-up market, and IM Group is no stranger to it — the company already imports the Isuzu D-Max and the new GWM Poer 300. Mitsubishi’s return will build on the brand’s network of more than 100 aftersales sites, with dedicated retail locations now being appointed ahead of launch.
A Mitsubishi Motors UK spokesperson told Select Van Leasing that the brand is “not in a position at this time to confirm which new vehicles will be coming to the UK,” but added that more details will be shared before the end of the year.
Mitsubishi says its returning range will highlight its strengths in four-wheel-drive engineering and off-road capability — areas where the L200 has always been strong, and which could help the brand reconnect instantly with core UK buyers.
IM Group expects to confirm model names and timings before the end of the year, ahead of Mitsubishi’s full relaunch in summer 2026.
