- Skoda Vision O concept will be revealed in September
- First look at next-generation electric estate car
- Could be the newOctavia Estate… maybe
- Debuts a new design language that we’ll see on other Skodas.

Skoda has given us the first teaser image of a new concept car, due for release later this year, which heralds a brand-new electric estate car.
The Vision O concept is likely to form the basis for a new production car, which may (or may not) be the next-generation Skoda Octavia Estate. Skoda is keeping schtum for now on what the production identity will be, but the teaser image gives us a heads-up about what to expect when the Vision O is revealed in full at the Munich Motor Show in September.

What is the Skoda Vision O?
The Skoda Vision O is a concept car that will give us our first look at the Czech brand’s next-generation electric estate. There are strong clues that it previews a battery-powered successor to the Octavia Estate.
The new concept will also be the first car to adopt Skoda’s new look, a design language called Modern Solid. Expect to see variants of it appear across the range over the coming years.
Under the surface, the Vision O will be the first Skoda model built on parent company Volkswagen’s SSP architecture. What does that mean? A vehicle’s architecture is its mechanical underpinning, and SSP is a new electric platform that promises improved efficiency, more performance, and better value for money than electric vehicles (EVs) based on the current architecture, which is called MEB.
At around 4.7 metres long, the Vision O is a similar size to the current Octavia Estate, which isn’t available as an EV. Expect the new car to make better use of that space, however, with a flatter floor and sleek aerodynamics, which could mean more passenger and boot space than its combustion engined forebear.

So, what does the Skoda Vision O look like?
So far, we’ll have to just point you towards the darkened teaser image above, which shows classic estate shape albeit one enhanced by cleaner lines, a steeply raked windscreen and a gently sloping roof line. The rear lights look to be very similar to the design seen on Skoda’s forthcoming small EV, the Epiq.
We can also expect to see a few visual cues from recent Skoda models, including the ‘Tech Deck’ front grille seen on the facelifted Enyaq and the new Elroq. We’re also expecting flush glazing and slim light clusters to improve aerodynamics.

What about the Skoda Vision O’s interior?
Details about the interior are scarce thus far, but rumour has it that the cabin will be similarly pared-back, aesthetically, as the exterior. We may well see a portrait-orientated central touchscreen, as seen in Skoda’s Vision 7S concept, revealed in 2023.
Skoda is also likely to keep the smart dials and physical buttons seen in the latest Superb and Kodiaq. And we can expect lots of useful features, of the kind that Skoda has become known for under its Simply Clever banner – think ice scrapers in the charging port, umbrellas in the doors, and lots of storage features.

Will this become the electric Octavia Estate?
Officially, we don’t know – Skoda hasn’t confirmed it outright. But the size, shape, and general focus of the Vision O strongly suggests it previews the Octavia Estate’s electric evolution, which should arrive before the end of the decade.
The Vision O also honours Skoda’s long-standing history of estate cars, from the L&K 110 of the 1920s to the Octavia, which has sold more than three million units across four generations since 1998.
