New Nissan Qashqai - the full reveal!

This is the eye-catching new Nissan Qashqai - and it’s wearing a radical new face for 2024.

The family-sized crossover is one of THE most popular cars in the UK. In fact, it’s the third most-registered car of 2024 so far, sitting narrowly behind the Ford Puma and Kia Sportage, and just ahead of the Audi A3.

You can lease the existing Nissan Qashqai right now with Select from £249 per month*.

Now a facelift has given the Qashqai a striking front end that’s inspired by the armour worn by Japanese warriors of old, and there are big tech improvements, too.

It’s seen here on a debut outing on the roads of the Algarve, in southern Portugal, where its sharpened styling ‘exudes a sharp and modern dynamism’, says Nissan.

As before, you’ll be able to lease the Nissan Qashqai with a choice of two powertrains.

One is a 1.3-litre petrol mild-hybrid with power of up to 158 PS and which will return around 44 miles to the gallon.

The other is Nissan’s 190 PS ‘e-POWER’ hybrid drive, which features a 1.5-litre petrol engine that feeds a 1.8 kWh battery and 140 kW electric motor.

With the e-POWER, the Qashqai’s wheels are only ever driven directly by the electric motor, unlike traditional hybrids. So, you get the sensation of driving a full EV without ever having to think about charging. As Nissan points out, it could well be a ‘stepping-stone for customers who aren’t yet ready to make the switch to 100% EV’.

The Qashqai’s makeover brings new headlights and daytime running lights, fresh 18-inch diamond cut alloys, and also a new mid-range trim level - called ‘N-Design’. The N-Design Qashqai comes with body-coloured lower door portions and unique 20-inch alloys.

The entry-level trim is ‘Acenta Premium’. At this grade you can expect, as standard, 17-inch wheels, a 12.3-inch display, rear-view camera and rear sensors, rain-sensing wipers, and a full bank of safety tech that includes intelligent cruise control, intelligent rear automatic braking, and lane departure prevention.

When it comes to the infotainment system, Google services are automatically built-in, giving you access to all of your favourite apps, as well as the ‘Hey Google’ voice assistant.

Meanwhile the range-topping ‘Tekna+’ Qashqai comes fully loaded with 20-inch alloys, a glass roof, quilted leather seats (with massage function in the front), and a premium Bose sound system.

A Nissan spokesperson tells us: “The comprehensive update to the styling, on-board tech and interior design will reinforce the Qashqai’s position as the segment-leader, as well as its place in automotive history as a segment-creator.”

We’ll bring you leasing prices as soon as they drop.

Rivals to the Nissan Qashqai are numerous in what's a crowded segment but the main players will be the Kia Sportage, Volkswagen Tiguan, Renault Austral, and Skoda Karoq.
