City rule the roost in Manchester, Spurs dominate North London and Newcastle United fans do the Toon proud.
That's according to new research into location-specific car colours compiled by data experts at Select Car Leasing.
The figures could make for sobering reading if you're a Liverpool, Manchester United or Arsenal fan - but Leeds United supporters are painting West Yorkshire white with their choice of car colour.
Using the most popular car colours in each city and town represented by the 92 professional football clubs in the top four English divisions, the research sought to highlight two things:
- Who has bragging rights over who in the United Kingdomʼs biggest football derbies, based on car colour
- Which team within the 92 is best represented by cars that match their colours within their own city
To do this, the study collated the total number of cars within each postcode of a football team and separated them by colour.
To work out who has bragging rights in the biggest derbies, colours of both teams were compared directly within each city.
Representation among the 92, meanwhile, was displayed as a percentage of the total number of cars within each town or city that mirrored the respective clubs' colours.
When looking at the biggest derbies in football across the United Kingdom, the study found that 14.6% of cars in Manchester are blue as opposed to 9.5% being red. North London, meanwhile, is only 7% red compared to 12% white cars.
Elsewhere, Everton take the bragging rights in Liverpool with their colours represented by 15.2% of cars in the city - compared to just 8.8% in Liverpool red.
Also represented in the study are the biggest rivalries between clubs based in different cities, with Newcastle United being able to say that both Newcastle and Sunderland are black – 18.7% of cars in Newcastle and 19.3% in Sunderland reflect the Magpiesʼ colours.
Swansea City and Cardiff City, conversely, are better represented by their rivals within their respective cities. In Swansea, 16.7% of cars are blue compared to 15.4% white, while white rules supreme in Cardiff making up 16.5% of all cars compared to 15.9% blue.

At the wrong end of the table, meanwhile, are Arsenal, with just 7% of cars in North London being red – a result that gives them the third-worst representation in the top flight.
In the Championship, meanwhile, there are just five clubs who fall under 10% representation, with Watford bottom of the pile – just 0.4% of cars in the town are yellow. Top of the pile are Ipswich Town, represented by 17.6% are all cars within Ipswich.
Moving down another level and it is Reading, Wycombe Wanderers and Bolton Wanderers who lead the way in League One, represented by 17.7%, 17.5% and 17% of cars respectively within their respective towns.
But it is Notts County in League Two who have the best representation of all 92 clubs, with 19% of cars in Nottingham reflecting the black on their kit.
