Mamma Mia! It’s the new Ferrari Amalfi

  • New Ferrari Amalfi revealed
  • Coupe named after the picturesque coastal region of Italy
  • Gets a 3.9-liter V8 delivering 630 hp
  • Priced from £208,000
  • Prettiest Ferrari for years? It just might be

This is the new Ferrari Amalfi - and it’s one of the prettiest cars we’ve ever seen wearing that famous Prancing Horse badge.

The Amalfi is the replacement for the equally drool-inducing Ferrari Roma.

It’s described as a ‘2+ coupe’, meaning there are two proper seats up top and two tiny seats located behind that’ll be used predominantly for stashing your luggage.

Under the bonnet lies a new evolution of Ferrari’s award-winning twin-turbo V8 engine, with a 3.9-litre unit delivering 630 hp (640 cv) and setting a new benchmark for front-mid-engined sports cars, the Italian firm tells us.

Advanced turbo management allows for independent control of each turbocharger, while lighter engine components and reduced internal friction contribute to both performance and efficiency.

Acceleration figures are impressive, with the Amalfi sprinting from 0-62 mph in just 3.3 seconds and reaching 124 mph in nine seconds flat.

The Amalfi’s design draws inspiration from its coastal namesake, blending minimalist styling with fluid lines.

The body’s aerodynamic shape is enhanced by active elements such as a rear spoiler that adjusts based on speed and driving conditions, delivering up to 110 kg of additional downforce at 155 mph.

The launch colour, Verde Costiera, a striking sea-inspired teal, further emphasises the car’s glamorous appeal.

Inside, Ferrari offers a dual-cockpit layout clad in carbon fibre, anodized aluminum, and perforated leather. A new human-machine interface includes three displays: a 15.6-inch instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch central touchscreen, and an 8.8-inch passenger display that offers performance data and media controls.

A return to physical buttons on the steering wheel - including the iconic red start button - is sure to get the seal of approval from most drivers while owners will also be treated to a 14-speaker Burmester premium sound system.

The Amalfi also integrates Ferrari’s most advanced dynamic control systems.

A brake-by-wire setup, the ABS Evo controller, and Side Slip Control 6.1 work in concert to optimise grip, braking, and stability on any surface.

Adaptive aerodynamics, EPS-based grip estimation, and optional driver-assist features like adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist ensure the Amalfi is as composed in city traffic as it is on the open road.

It is, in Ferrari’s words, ‘a car that embodies elegance and performance, emotion and function — built for the road, ready for the track’.

Order books are open now and in Italy it’ll set you back €240,000 - around £208,000 here in the UK.
