- New BMW M3 CS Touring revealed
- Estate version of M3 CS Saloon
- High performance variant of M3 Competition Touring
- Limited production run
This is the new BMW M3 CS Touring - for when you really need to get the kids to school and the Labradors dropped off at doggy day care in a hurry.
Yep, you’re looking at one of the coolest new estates.
In case you’re not familiar, the ‘CS’, or ‘Competition Sport’, name is used to identify special, limited-edition, high-performance BMW M models.
We saw the BMW M3 CS Saloon arrive in 2023, acting as a cut above the regular M3 Competition Saloon.
And now it’s the turn of the all-wheel drive Touring estate model.
The M3’s 3.0-litre, six cylinder engine’s power has been dialled-up to 550 hp - 20 hp more than the regular M3 Competition Touring - while peak torque of 650 Nm helps the CS Touring accelerate from 0-62 mph in 3.5 seconds and then on to a top speed of 186 mph.
To put that acceleration figure into context, the CS shaves 0.1 secs off the M3 Competition Touring’s sprint time.
Besides the extra poke, the CS Touring also features bespoke chassis tuning and minimised weight, helped by numerous components made from carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP).
The twin turbochargers have been upgraded, while a specially designed engine mounting with increased spring rates leads to a sharper engine response and ‘instantaneous power delivery’, says BMW.
The BMW M3 CS Touring gets an M-specific exhaust system with a titanium rear silencer and two pairs of tailpipes painted in matt black, while an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with ‘Drivelogic’ tech lets you adjust the settings for track driving.
The cabin boasts heated M Carbon bucket seats, full Merino leather and an Alcantara flat-bottomed steering wheel. BMW’s ‘M Drive Professional’ system is fitted as standard and includes a ‘Drift Analyser’ and ‘Laptimer’.
The BMW M3 CS Touring is priced from £120,600. The obvious rival is the Audi RS6, which is both more powerful and quicker off the line than the Beemer.
