- Skoda launches ‘Design Edition’ trim for Kamiq SUV
- Features 17-inch alloys, black styling and sports seats
- Sits between SE Edition and SE L Edition models
- Order books open later this month
Skoda is kicking off 2025 by launching a new ‘Design Edition’ trim level for the Kamiq SUV.
In case you need a recap, the Kamiq is Skoda’s most compact SUV, sitting behind the larger Karoq and seven-seat Kodiaq, while also being more affordable than the fully-electric Elroq.
The fresh ‘Design Edition’ trim sits between the entry-level SE Edition and mid-range SE L Edition grades.
And when order books open later this month, the Design Edition Kamiq will come with 17-inch alloys, black detailing, privacy glass, and sports seats as standard.
Skoda reckons the new trim finds a balance between ‘striking looks’ and ‘maximising value for money’.
The cabin is treated to ambient lighting, cloth and microsuede upholstery, aluminium pedals, a three-spoke sports steering wheel and red trim on the dashboard. The exterior enjoys extras like a black roof and door mirrors.
There’s a choice of two powertrains, with a 1.0-litre petrol engine providing either 95 PS or 116 PS. A manual gearbox is standard though the 116 PS mill can be had with a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox.
Either way, you’re looking at fuel efficiency in excess of 50 miles to the gallon on the combined cycle, which should help to keep your running costs low.
Prices for the Design Edition variant start from just £25,855 to buy outright and Skoda will begin taking orders on 16 January, with deliveries expected in the spring of 2025.
If the new Design Edition trim doesn’t float your boat, moving up to the SE L Edition or Monte Carlo models unlocks a larger 1.5-litre petrol engine with power of 150 PS and the ability to sprint from 0-62 mph in 8.3 seconds.
The Monte Carlo models (below) are particularly easy on the eye, coming with blacked-out styling, 18-inch alloys, Matrix LED headlights, a panoramic glass roof, and adaptive cruise control.
