Football’s Michael Owen takes delivery of UK’s first Leapmotor

The UK’s first Leapmotor customer is… former footballer Michael Owen!

Leapmotor is a brand new Chinese manufacturer on the UK leasing market, focusing on EVs that are both affordable and stylish.

The Leapmotor C10 is a fully-electric rival to cars like the Renault Scenic E-Tech and Skoda Enyaq, and which doesn’t actually go on sale until March 1st.

But like he did against so many Premier League defenders back in the day, Michael Owen has sprinted ahead of rivals by getting the keys to Britain’s first C10.

Ex-Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester United forward Owen, 45, now a racehorse owner and breeder, said: “I’m delighted to be the first Leapmotor customer in the UK. The C10 is a stunning looking car and is the perfect car for me and my family with some incredible tech, ample space and a reassuring top level safety rating.”

The C10 itself gets a range of up to 262 miles between charges and comes loaded with equipment as standard, including a panoramic roof, heated and ventilated seats, and a 14.6-inch touchscreen.

Damien Dally, Leapmotor UK Managing Director, added: “Michael Owen is one of the best football players this country has ever produced, so this is an exciting first signing for our brand.

Besides the C10, Leapmotor also offers the T03 - a nimble little city hatchback with a max 165-mile range and a low £16,000 asking price.

Leapmotor is also backed by global heavyweights Stellantis, owner of brands including Vauxhall, Peugeot, Citroen, Jeep, Alfa Romeo and Fiat.
