What to expect at the 2025 Commercial Vehicle Show

  • 2025 Commercial Vehicle Show preview
  • Runs 29 April to 1 May at NEC Birmingham
  • First chance to see new Kia PV5
  • Farizon SuperVan also on show

The UK’s biggest commercial vehicle event is back - and here's everything you need to know.

Running from 29 April to 1 May at the NEC in Birmingham, the 2025 Commercial Vehicle Show is shaping up to be a big one for van operators, with new launches, electric van debuts, and clever kit to help your operation run smoother.

If you use a van for work or are thinking about switching to something new, this year’s show could be worth the trip with several big-name debuts.

Kia’s first van is no ordinary newcomer

Top of the must-see list is the Kia PV5 (above), being shown in the UK for the first time. It’s Kia’s first commercial vehicle outside of South Korea, built from the ground up as an electric van. You’ll eventually be able to lease it as a panel van, chassis cab, or even a people mover, depending on what you need.

Alongside the van, the company is launching a whole ecosystem, with fleet tools, software, and remote updates. It’s even teased a lifestyle version, the PV5 WKNDR, which shows this van might be just as at home on a campsite as a building site.

Sadly, we won’t see the Kia Tasman pick-up in the UK or its lifestyle-enabled Tasman WKNDR concept.

Renault launches next-gen electric vans

Renault is showing off not one, but three new electric vans at the CV Show: the Trafic, Estafette, and Goelette (above). These are the first vans built using the company’s new Ampere SDV (Software Defined Vehicle) system, which means they’re designed to be updated like your phone, with new features added via software long after you’ve first leased or bought one.

This new platform could be a money-saver for fleets, with vans that stay modern, flexible and updated for years.

Flexis: The smart new van brand to watch

Right next to Renault, newcomer Flexis will be showing its electric Step-In Van, built on the same high-tech SDV platform as the Renault Estefette (above). With its low floor and roomy interior, it’s aimed at city delivery fleets, but the smart software and modular design could appeal to all kinds of van users looking for something different.

Farizon makes its UK debut

Another new name for UK van buyers is Farizon, part of Chinese giant Geely (which also owns Volvo and Lotus). The Farizon SuperVan (above) — or just SV here — will be on show in all its full-sized electric glory, including the largest L3 H3 version.

There’ll be massive batteries (up to 106kWh), loads of tech, and clever packaging like pillarless sides for easier loading. Expect prices to start around £45,000 plus VAT, with deliveries due later in 2025.

Ford goes big on E-Transits and performance

Ford always makes a splash at the CV Show, and this year will be no different. Alongside the latest E-Transit Custom MS-RT (above, and which mixes electric power with sporty looks), you’ll find the plug-in hybrid Ford Ranger, new electric models like the E-Transit Courier and Transit Connect PHEV, and even the Supervan 4.2 — a high-performance concept van that’s claimed to be the fastest in the world.

Isuzu’s pick-up gets a rugged upgrade

If pick-ups are your thing, head to Isuzu’s stand for a look at the limited-edition D-Max Steel Edition (above). Based on the range-topping V-Cross, 250 customers will get a stealthy grey look, exclusive badging and premium trim, as well as the D-Max’s best features: 3.5-tonne towing and a 1-tonne payload.

Plenty more on the floor

There’s more to see, too. KGM (formerly SsangYong) will be showing its Musso pick-up (although probably not the O100 electric pickup that’s due to arrive in the UK later this year), and Ineos will have both the Grenadier Commercial and Quartermaster pick-up on display for those who need off-road ability. Dacia is expected to bring its tiny but intriguing Spring electric van.

Who’s not turning up?

Not every big name is making the trip. The entire Stellantis group — that’s Citroen, Fiat, Peugeot and Vauxhall — is giving the 2025 show a miss, despite having a wide range of updated models. Toyota, Volkswagen, Nissan, Iveco, Land Rover and MAN are also skipping this year, which may disappoint some. Even Maxus, who had a huge presence over the last few years, is sitting it out.

Mercedes-Benz is officially absent, too, although dealer Midlands Truck & Van is stepping in to make sure some of its vans still appear on the floor.

More than just vans

There’s more to the CV Show than shiny new vans. Expect a growing focus on zero-emission technology, AI-powered telematics, fleet management tools, aftermarket upgrades, and talks and workshops on the significant challenges facing van operators in 2025, which are always worth a visit.

Mike Costain, event director of the Commercial Vehicle Show: “The CV Show is the premier platform for the road transport sector, bringing together leading exhibitors and industry professionals to explore the latest innovations. This year’s event will not only highlight the technologies shaping the future of road transport but also provide businesses with the insights and solutions they need to thrive. Whether you’re looking to enhance efficiency, improve sustainability, or discover cutting-edge vehicle technology, the CV Show 2025 is the place to be.”
