Factory-free EV brand Flynt unveils new electric van for Europe

  • New electric van from Flynt revealed
  • Flynt is headquartered in Netherlands but working with Chinese partners
  • First van could have 310-mile range and 1,600kg payload
  • Set to arrive in Europe 2026

Flynt is a new electric van brand making its European debut with a bold strategy — it’s not going to build any vans.

Rather than investing in production lines, Flynt describes itself as an “asset-light OEM,” focusing instead on product definition, customer experience, and a digital-first sales and support network across Europe. It’s partnering with established manufacturers, effectively subcontracting production, to bring a fully electric van to market starting in 2026.

Flynt’s first van has been developed alongside GAC Group, one of China’s largest automotive companies, and will be manufactured by GAC’s commercial vehicle spin-off, MiracoMotor. The van has been designed specifically for European fleet needs, says Flynt, focusing on payload, range, and digital features.

What to expect from Flynt’s first van

Firm details are thin on the ground, but we know that Flynt’s debut model is a purpose-built electric van designed on a dedicated EV platform. It’s available in multiple drivetrain configurations — front-, rear-, or all-wheel drive — and is equipped with a 100kWh battery offering a claimed range of up to 310 miles.

Rapid charging is supported up to 220kW, which allows the battery to be topped up from 30 to 80% in around 20 minutes — enough to add approximately 155 miles of range.

Cargo volume ranges from 8.7m³ to 16.5m³, depending on the variant, and the maximum payload is a useful 1,630kg.

Inside the cab, Flynt promises a digital-first experience with features like a 12.8-inch central screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and mobile office-friendly storage and layout.

Built in China, tailored for Europe

Flynt’s founders say the decision to work with Chinese partners was deliberate; China is currently the global leader in EV technology, particularly in areas like battery development, software integration, and production scalability. By tapping into that ecosystem, Flynt believes it can offer a high-spec, cost-effective product that meets European expectations.

That said, Flynt is keen to emphasise its European focus. The company says it has spent 18 months consulting with operators across sectors, including logistics, construction, and service industries, to make sure the van fits the real-world demands of European businesses. It doesn’t go so far as to name these operators.

The result, Flynt says, is a van that offers strong efficiency, low running costs, and a competitive total cost of ownership. It also includes support for vehicle-to-grid (V2G) and vehicle-to-load (V2L) features — useful tools for mobile trades or fleets aiming to improve energy management.

What’s next for Flynt?

Flynt’s first prototype units are due to arrive in Europe this summer for pilot testing and demonstrations. The company plans a full market launch in 2026, beginning with a small number of markets before expanding across Europe.

While Flynt says it has already signed initial distribution agreements, it hasn’t yet confirmed where those will be or which partners will handle sales and servicing. As a digital-first brand, Flynt is developing its own platform to manage the customer journey from vehicle ordering to ongoing support, though local partners will still be key for aftersales.

For van operators exploring the move to electric, Flynt’s offer could prove interesting, especially if the final product matches its early promises on range, payload, and efficiency. For now, it’s a press release filled with promises but little to back it up. We’ll find out more once the vans arrive on these shores.
