The Renault Master has won yet another industry award - with the Master E-Tech being named the ‘Best Electric Van’ currently available.
Back in September last year, the Master (in both diesel and petrol form) was lauded as International Van of the Year at a big European bash in Germany.
Now the EV variant of Renault’s largest LCV has been named ‘Best Electric Van’ in awards put together by website DrivingElectric.
Paul Barker, Editor of DrivingElectric, said: “The Renault Master E-Tech has a smooth driving experience and huge cargo volume that make it as useful as ever.”
To that effect, the Master E-Tech gets a max 285-mile range, a payload of up to 1,482kg, and towing capability of up to 2.5 tonnes. Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability for charging and powering tools and devices will arrive later this year.
A 87 kWh battery delivers decent power of up to 142 PS and 300 Nm of torque while 130 kW DC rapid charging can give you 142 miles of range in just 39 minutes.
The cabin offers a ‘car-like feel’, says Renault, and gets a 10-inch infotainment system with Google tech automatically built-in.
