A team from Select Car Leasing Manchester braved torrential rain and tired legs to complete the ‘world's largest and best Inflatable 5K’ fun run last week.
The competition, organised by UK Running Events, took place in Cheshire’s historic Tatton Park and saw participants tackle bouncy hill climbs, obstacle courses and adrenaline-inducing slides.
Among the racers were Select Manchester’s Principal Mark Ferris, as well as a number of members of the team including Scott Murray, Chris Waugh, Sarah Schatynski, Connor Esberger and Brian Schofield.
Mark and the group got round in a time of 48 minutes and 32 seconds - even though it had been one of the wettest weekends of the summer and conditions were challenging.
Mark explains: “We decided to run the Inflatable 5k as a fun summer team building event, but we couldn’t have picked a worse weekend for it, as it was absolutely bucketing down. It was still a great laugh and we managed to complete the course. I certainly felt it the next day, though, that’s for sure.”

And the Inflatable 5k isn’t the first time the hardy Select Manchester staff have put their bodies on the line.
In September last year they raised hundreds of pounds for Macmillan Cancer Support by attempting to rack-up as many miles as they possibly could in a single month, by means of walking, swimming, cycling and running.
They eventually logged 597 miles between them - smashing their 410-mile target.
