- Versatile Kia PV5 Crew van launched
- Designed to carry both cargo and passengers
- Switch between 2-seat or 5-seat layout in seconds
- Estimated range of up to 175 miles
- Full UK pricing and spec still to be confirmed

Kia has expanded its new PBV line-up with the PV5 Crew, a version of the PV5 designed to switch quickly between carrying people and carrying equipment.
Based on the PV5 Cargo L2H1, the new model is aimed at businesses that need a single vehicle to handle multiple jobs during the day. Kia says the PV5 Crew can move from a two-seat van layout to a five-seat crew configuration in seconds thanks to a tool-free seat and partition system.
That makes it particularly relevant for operators who regularly need to transport staff as well as tools, materials or other equipment. Kia says likely customers include businesses in construction, maintenance, landscaping and airport operations.

In its five-seat layout, the PV5 Crew offers 2.4 cubic metres of load space and a load length of 1,278mm. Switch it to its two-seat cargo mode, and that grows to 3.7 cubic metres and 1,965mm of load length. That is only a little less than the 4.4 cubic metres offered by the standard PV5 Cargo van.
Kia has also fitted the van with an L-track mounting system to help secure loads and accessories, along with vehicle-to-load sockets in the cargo area and a durable non-slip floor.

What electric range does the Kia PV5 Crew van have?
The PV5 Crew forms part of Kia’s Made In Plant conversion strategy, meaning it is built as an integrated factory product rather than converted later by a third party. Kia says this should improve overall fit and finish while also making the van easier to adapt for different markets and uses.
Power comes from a 51.5kWh battery, with Kia quoting an estimated range of up to 175 miles, pending final homologation. The larger 71.2kWh battery available in other PV5 models will not be offered on the Crew version, in order to balance range and payload opportunities. The maximum payload is currently targeted at 625kg.
Production of the PV5 Crew is due to begin at the end of April, with full UK pricing, specification and availability expected to be confirmed at this month’s Commercial Vehicle Show.
