- VW Caddy Cargo in line for a refresh
- Order books open later this year
- New front end and fresh paint options
- Redesigned dash with larger screen

Volkswagen is preparing a light update for the Caddy Cargo van, with styling tweaks and a revised cabin.
The changes are meant to keep the Caddy looking fresh in a market where buyers increasingly expect car-like tech and a smarter cabin, especially in smaller working vans.
The exterior revisions are fairly subtle. Volkswagen has given the Caddy a new-look front end, along with fresh paint options and a new choice of alloy wheels ranging from 16 to 18 inches.
More meaningful changes are likely to be inside. Volkswagen has already confirmed that the newly updated van will feature a redesigned dashboard centred around a larger free-standing infotainment screen, although the full cabin layout and final specification are still being held back until pre-sales begin.
That probably matters more than the cosmetic changes outside. The Caddy has always been one of the more car-like small vans on the market, and improved in-cab tech should help it stay competitive with newer rivals.

New VW Caddy Cargo - how practical is it?
Importantly, the van’s core practical figures are unchanged. The Caddy Cargo Maxi will still offer up to 3.1 cubic metres of load space, while towing capacity remains at up to 1,500kg, depending on model.
Volkswagen has not yet confirmed the full UK engine line-up, but the broader Caddy range is expected to continue with a mix of petrol, diesel and hybrid powertrains.
The brand will also continue to offer its optional five-year manufacturer warranty, something that will be attractive to smaller firms trying to keep long-term running costs under control.

The Caddy Cargo is a key model for VW
The Caddy remains an important model for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. More than 500,000 examples of the current-generation version have been built since production began at the end of 2020, while overall Caddy production since 2003 is now close to 2.9 million.
Full UK details for the updated Caddy Cargo are expected later in 2026 when pre-sales officially begin.
