- New 2.2-litre diesel engine for refreshed D-Max pick-up
- More torque - up to 400Nm - 11% more than existing model
- Power output expected to remain the same
- One-tonne payload and 3.5-tonne towing capacity
- Full pricing to be revealed soon
Isuzu has confirmed its D-Max will receive a new 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine - with the updated pick-up arriving in July 2026.
The refreshed load-lugger will make its debut at the Commercial Vehicle Show later this month.
The new Euro 6-compliant engine replaces the current 1.9-litre unit and will be available with an optional eight-speed automatic gearbox.
The key improvement is torque, which rises to 400Nm – around 11% more than the existing model. Power output is expected to remain broadly similar to the current D-Max’s 164hp.
For buyers who use a pick-up as a working vehicle, the most important figures remain unchanged: The new D-Max will continue to offer a one-tonne payload and 3.5-tonne towing capacity, keeping it competitive with key rivals and preserving its appeal for business, rural and towing users.

Isuzu D-Max: Same core strengths, modest updates
The revised D-Max range will still be offered in Single Cab, Extended Cab and Double Cab body styles, as well as the new Commercial version that takes the double-cab model and replaces the rear seats with secure storage.
Isuzu has also added a new DL40 Extended Cab, giving buyers another option if they want extra load-bed length without dropping down to a more basic trim.
Styling changes are relatively subtle, including a revised front grille, updated front and rear lights, and a new Urban Moss metallic paint finish for the range-topping V-Cross. That version also gains revised alloy wheels and updated side steps.

New Dunlop low-rolling-resistance tyres have also been fitted to improve efficiency while offering better grip in wet conditions.
There are also updates to safety and driver assistance technology. A Driver Monitoring System is now standard across the range, while DL40 and V-Cross models gain a 360-degree surround-view camera.
Inside, Isuzu has introduced updated cloth and leather seat trim designs depending on specification.
The new D-Max is available to pre-order now, with first UK deliveries expected from July 2026.
Prices will start from £33,495 CVOTR, with full model and pricing details due to be confirmed at the CV Show at the NEC Birmingham from 21 to 23 April.
