Here’s your new ‘home sweet home on wheels’ - the brand new Citroen Holidays camper van.
There’s sleeping space for up to four people, a modern kitchen, a pop-up roof and swivelling front seats.
And the Holidays - which will rival other campers like the Ford Transit Custom Nugget and the Volkswagen California - will be available to order in the spring of this year.
The Holidays is based on the recently-updated Citroen SpaceTourer MPV, and comes with a 2.0-litre diesel engine that has decent power of 180 hp and which is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox for hassle-free cruising.
First and foremost, the Citroen Holidays should offer a nice ride, with a 10-inch touchscreen in the cabin, wireless phone charging, and up to 17 different driver assistance and safety aids up for grabs, including adaptive cruise control.
And then there’s all of the stuff in the back.
A pop-up roof comes as standard, which accommodates up to two sleeping spaces measuring 1.20m wide and 1.95m long.
Meanwhile the sliding bench seats can also be converted into a sleeping space for an additional two people.
There are blackout blinds on the windscreen and side windows, and passengers in the upper section benefit from integrated blinds and a window in the bellows for managing ventilation and light.
The kitchen gets a stainless steel sink and two gas burners, while there’s also a 16-litre fridge and a retractable table, ‘allowing for enjoyable indoor meals for four people thanks to the rotating front seats’, says Citroen.
A removable toilet comes equipped, while there’s also the option of fitting a removable shower.
Meanwhile a 12V ‘leisure battery’ - which powers the fridge and two USB-A sockets - can also be recharged via an external mains inlet point. There’s even a roof-mounted solar panel to harness additional power from the sun.
Need even more space? There’s a rail on each side of the vehicle which can hold a rolling awning.
A Citroen spokesperson tells us: “Equipped with the ability for all occupants to cook, socialise, and sleep in exceptional and remote locations. Equipped with the latest-generation driving assistance technologies designed to give users a relaxing drive, Citroën Holidays is practical for everyday use while offering freedom to discover the world with complete peace of mind.”
