Kia's bold new electric van - the PV5 - is poised for its global debut.
After a successful inaugural event in Korea last year, Kia’s EV Day is set to return on 27 February. This time, the event will be held at the Tarraco Arena in Tarragona, Spain, where Kia will showcase its latest electric vehicle line-up, including concepts and platform developments.
The event will mark the global debut of the production version of the Kia PV5. Teased in the images released ahead of the event, the PV5 is a modular electric van that Kia hopes will shake up the commercial vehicle sector.
The PV5, the first model unveiled from the brand’s new Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) range, was initially introduced as a concept at the Consumer Electronics Show in 2024 — though in the UK, these models will be marketed as Professional Business Vans.
Kia is expected to take the opportunity to outline its broader PBV strategy and detail how it plans to integrate these vehicles into its growing electric line-up.
Alongside the PV5, Kia will also unveil the production version of the EV4, which debuted as a concept at last year’s event. The Kia Concept EV2, a compact electric car that will expand the brand’s dedicated EV offering, will also be exhibited.
Kia will divulge further details of its battery-electric platform ‘skateboard’ chassis, which will be utilised to offer greater flexibility for future EV and PBV models, including LCV conversions.
Updates will also be provided on Kia’s electrification strategy from members of the senior leadership team, and plans for future models will be outlined, as will the company’s approach to addressing the demands of an evolving market.
UK buyers will get a first glimpse of the new Kia PV5 at the CV Show, which will take place from 29 April until 1 May at NEC, Birmingham.
