Seven-seat Peaq will be Skoda’s new flagship

  • Skoda previews new electric Peaq
  • 7-seat SUV that’ll be Skoda’s new flagship model
  • Range of ‘more than’ 372 miles
  • Billed as the ‘perfect companion for everyday explorers’
  • Set to arrive mid-2026
  • Part of Skoda’s aim to double its EV portfolio

Skoda is preparing to launch its mighty new flagship - the 7-seat electric Peaq, which will arrive mid-2026.

The SUV will be the largest car in Skoda’s range and will offer competition to rivals like the Peugeot E-5008, Hyundai Ioniq 9 and the Kia EV9.

With a range of more than 372 miles between charges and goodies like massage seats and a premium Sonos sound system, the Peaq is aimed at busy families and ‘everyday explorers’, as Skoda calls its target market, who also demand comfort on long trips.

Here’s everything you need to know.

Is the Skoda Peaq a 7-seater?

Yes, as the largest car in Skoda’s range, the Peaq has three rows of seats and can accommodate 7 adults, according to the Czech firm.

At nearly 4.9 metres in length (a couple of centimetres longer than the Skoda Kodiaq), the Skoda Peaq should offer ample interior space for passengers while there’s a 299-litre boot, even with all 7 seats in place.

That luggage capacity expands to a whopping 890 litres with the third row of seats folded.

You also get an additional 37 litres of space in the front trunk underneath the bonnet.

Klaus Zellmer, Skoda Auto CEO, says: “The Skoda Peaq is designed for real life - for families who need space, for drivers who want confidence on long journeys, and for anyone who values modern style without compromise.”

The Peaq inherits Skoda’s trademark ‘TechDeck Face’ front panel with vertical slats and LED backlighting while it’s also the first Skoda to get flush door handles.

Skoda Peaq - what’s the interior like?

When it comes to the cabin, a range of interior designs are available (including the range-topping ‘Sportline’) while all variants will come with ambient lighting and a heated steering wheel.

While leather upholstery will be available later in the year, the Peaq will launch with interiors that are exclusively animal free and incorporate more than 50 kg of recycled materials.

You can expect a new 13.6-inch vertical screen, a 10-inch driver display, and a head-up display will be available as an option.

You’ll also be able to enjoy the largest panoramic roof ever fitted to a Skoda while the ‘Relax Package’ unlocks special seats with a massage function and electrically adjustable ergonomic leg rests, front pillows, a foldable table, an integrated wellness app, and a top-end sound system from Sonos.

What range do you get with the Skoda Peaq?

Three powertrains will be available with the Skoda Peaq: 60, 90 and the all-wheel drive 90x.

They deliver power of between 204 PS and 299 PS.

Those 90 and 90x variants will also offer a range of ‘more than’ 372 miles (600km) while enabling a rapid charge from 10-80% in 28 minutes.

The most potent AWD 90x will also be capable of accelerating from 0-62mph in 6.7 seconds, which isn’t bad at all for a big family barge.

The electric Peaq supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), allowing energy stored in the battery to charge and power external electrical devices, such as e-bikes or caravans.
