- Renault 4 E-Tech priced from £26,995
- Makes it cheaper than some key rivals
- Trim level details now revealed
- Order books open July 2025

The mega-anticipated Renault 4 E-Tech will arrive this July - and it’ll boast a price tag that undercuts a host of rivals.
We’re expecting big things from the incoming Renault 4, a modern, fully-electric reimagining of a retro classic and a big brother to the multi award-winning Renault 5.
The R4 has already been named ‘Electric Car of the Year’ at the TopGear.com Electric Car Awards.
And when order books are thrown open in July, it’ll be up for grabs with a starting price of £26,995, Renault has now revealed.

To put that figure into context, it makes the Renault 4 cheaper to purchase outright than cars like the electric Jeep Avenger, MINI Aceman and the Fiat 600e - and a good three grand cheaper than the Ford Puma Gen-E (which we tested last week - read that report here).
We already knew that the Renault 4 would get a 52 kWh ‘Comfort Range’ battery that results in a range close to 250 miles between charges. Charging at up to 11kW AC and 100kW DC allows an 80% charge in just 30 minutes.
It’s tough to fault the car’s charming and nostalgic styling, too.
And Renault has also now spilled the beans on the three different trim levels that will be available - and what equipment you’ll get as standard.
For the full low-down, keep reading.

Renault 4 E-Tech battery and powertrain
At launch, the Renault 4 E-Tech will enjoy a 52 kWh ‘Comfort Range’ battery that gives you power of 150 hp, 245 Nm of torque, and a driving range of up to 247 miles between charges.
Acceleration from 0-62 mph will go by in a sprightly 8.2 seconds.

And the R4 will also come with Renault’s ‘One Pedal’ function as standard, which uses regenerative braking to bring you to a halt without the driver having to press the brake pedal.
Rapid 100 kW DC charging lets you replenish the energy in the battery from 15-80% in around 30 minutes while 11 kW AC charging will take around 4 hours 51 minutes.
A more affordable 40 kWh battery (with a range of up to 186 miles) is due to become available further down the road.

Renault 4 E-Tech styling and practicality
There are nods galore to the design of the original, which will please aficionados, while the styling is crisp and modern enough to delight those who’ve never even seen the original Renault 4.
There’s an illuminated front grille, three-part rear lights, and the bonnet lines wrap around the front headlights and face for a clean yet retro look.

At 4.14m in length, it’s a shade smaller than the 4.21m Ford Puma Gen-E yet Renault promises plenty of room in the back for rear occupants.
A 420-litre boot is also decent and eclipses the 300 litres you get with the MINI Aceman.
An optional electric-opening canvas roof will also be available in due course, and brings ‘the spirit of the outdoors into the cabin’, says Renault.

Renault 4 E-Tech trim levels
There are three trims to choose from; Evolution, Techno and Iconic.
The entry-level Evolution grade brings you 18-inch black alloys, keyless entry, dual-zone climate control, grey quilted textile upholstery, a 10-inch ‘OpenR Link’ central touchscreen multimedia system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 7-inch digital driver information display, rear parking sensors, and a rear view camera. You also get, as standard, a full suite of driver assistance and safety tech that includes active emergency braking and lane keep assist.

The mid-range Techno grade adds roof rails, an infotainment system with Google services built in, wireless phone charging, a larger 10-inch driver display, front, rear and side parking sensors, four different drive modes including ‘Sport’ and ‘Eco’, ambient lighting, synthetic leather upholstery, leather steering wheel, and a fabric dash. The Techno level also features adaptive cruise control, hands-free parking and Vehicle to Load (V2L) skills which lets you power external devices via the car’s battery.

The range-topping Iconic trim, meanwhile, boasts unique 18-inch alloys, an electric power tailgate, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, a synthetic leather dashboard with yellow stitching and an illuminated 'Renault 4' symbol, lane centring tech, contextual adaptive cruise control, and intelligent speed assistance.

Renault 4 E-Tech rivals
The Renault 4 E-Tech will do battle with some key electric crossovers, including the Ford Puma Gen-E, MINI Aceman, Fiat 600e and Jeep Avenger Electric, as well as the slightly larger (and more premium) Kia EV3.
You might also look at cars like the Citroen e-C3 Aircross and the Peugeot E-2008 for leasing alternatives to the Renault 4.
