Porsche adds Cayenne S to its electric line-up

  • New Porsche Cayenne S Electric revealed
  • All-wheel drive, power of 544 PS
  • 0-62mph in 3.8 seconds
  • Range of 405 miles
  • Longest range of all Cayenne Electric models
  • Priced from £99,900

Porsche has thrown the sheets off its new Cayenne S Electric - a performance SUV with a 405-mile max range.

The Porsche Cayenne Electric was first launched at the end of 2025.

Up until now, two versions were available; the entry-level Cayenne Electric (442 PS) and the raucous, top-rung Cayenne Turbo Electric - which is positioned as the most powerful production Porsche in history and which gets a scarcely-believable output of 1,156 PS.

This new Cayenne S Electric sits squarely in the middle of those two existing derivatives.

And with a range of up to 405 miles, it’s the Cayenne S that enjoys the longest range between charges.

Here’s everything you need to know.

What is the Porsche Cayenne S Electric?

The Cayenne S Electric seeks to find the perfect balance between ‘high performance, efficiency and extensive equipment’, says Porsche.

It’s underpinned by the same 113 kW battery as the other Cayenne Electric models and gets all-wheel drive as standard, as is par for the course.

Here the standard power output is 544 PS, but that rises (briefly) to a devilish 666 PS with overboost engaged.

Acceleration from 0-62mph goes by in just 3.8 seconds (quicker than the 4.8 seconds you get with the base model but nowhere near as ballistic as the 2.5 seconds to be savoured with the Turbo Electric).

Meanwhile, ultra rapid charging at speeds up to 400 kW can restore the energy in the battery from 10 to 80% in just 16 minutes - barely long enough to relieve yourself and grab a coffee at the motorway services.

What’s the driving range of the Porsche Cayenne S Electric?

The Porsche Cayenne S Electric can travel up to 405 miles between charges - which is more than any other Cayenne Electric variant currently available.

For comparison purposes, the entry-level model can do 398 miles, the Turbo Electric maxes out at 387 miles.

Does the Porsche Cayenne S Electric have unique styling?

Yep, the Cayenne S looks more aggressive than the base Cayenne Electric, featuring model-specific front and rear aprons in Volcano Grey Metallic, while the inserts and diffuser are painted in the body colour.

You get 20-inch Cayenne S Aero alloys while optional equipment includes the Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus system for more agile handling and the Porsche Active Ride suspension, which ‘completely compensates for body movements and ensures exceptional driving stability’, Porsche tells us.

Tick the Push-to-Pass option and you get that aforementioned 122 PS power boost, which can be called upon for 10 seconds.

In the cabin, you can enjoy two-tone leather upholstery, 14-adjustable comfort seats, decorative trims in aluminium, and a GT sports steering wheel with a 12 o'clock marking and cross stitching in Delgada Green.

How much does the Porsche Cayenne S Electric cost?

Prices begin at £99,900, before you start customising it.

The Cayenne Electric range begins at £83,256 and rises to £130,965 for the Cayenne Turbo Electric.
