About the Porsche Cayenne Electric

Since its inception in 2002, the Cayenne has proved that you really can take all the prestige and performance of a sports car from a brand like Porsche and put it into a practical SUV.

In 2025, Porsche moved the needle once more, launching this fully-electric version of its long-running crowdpleaser to sit alongside the regular petrol and plug-in hybrid Cayenne.

The basic Cayenne recipe remains the same; the Cayenne Electric is a car you can drive to the office, off-road up a muddy track, or at the racetrack.

Upon its launch, the Cayenne Electric also represented the most powerful production Porsche of all time, with a staggering 1,156 PS giving a 0-62 mph acceleration time of just 2.5 seconds.

Why lease the Porsche Cayenne Electric?

If you want the pace of a supercar without having to compromise on cabin space, then the Porsche Cayenne Electric will tick a lot of boxes as a lease vehicle.

All variants are all-wheel drive and come with the electronic Porsche Traction Management (ePTM) system for supreme surefootedness.

The Cayenne Electric is also slightly longer than the petrol-powered Cayenne, which means extra legroom for passengers and an enormous 781-litre boot.

The base Cayenne Electric is quick enough, with power of 442 PS and 835 Nm of torque, while the blisteringly-quick Cayenne Turbo Electric dials things up to eleven.

Porsche Cayenne Electric Frequently Asked Questions

The Cayenne Electric was launched in two forms; the base model and the supremely powerful Cayenne Turbo Electric. Both come as standard with all-wheel drive, though a more affordable single motor model will likely be offered in due course. The Cayenne Electric was also launched with a traditional SUV body shape. Again, a Coupe version (as seen with the petrol Cayenne) is likely to follow.

The Cayenne Electric is based on an evolved version of Porsche’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE), using an 800-volt architecture, which enables very fast charging and efficient energy management.

The Porsche Cayenne Electric uses a 113 kWh high-voltage battery with a sophisticated double-sided cooling system for thermal management, which helps maintain performance and efficiency.

The EV driving range figure for the Porsche Cayenne Electric varies depending on which model you choose to lease. The base version has a range of up to 398 miles on a single charge while the more powerful Cayenne Turbo Electric is still capable of travelling up to 387 between trips to the plug. Rapid charging of 390 kW DC (up to 400 kW DC in certain conditions) means a 10% to 80% charge takes just 16 minutes.

Yes, the Porsche Cayenne Electric supports inductive wireless battery charging, though it’s an optional extra and tech that’s not currently fitted as standard. Wireless battery charging comes via a 11 kW via a floor plate which sits under the car and begins the recharging process without the need for any plugs or cables.
