These are some of the best small SUVs available to lease — offering a superb mix of safety, practicality and affordability.
Small SUVs have become one of the most popular types of car in the UK - and it’s easy to see why. They offer the raised driving position and practicality of a traditional SUV, but in a more compact and affordable package that’s ideal for everyday driving.
For drivers considering a lease, small SUVs are particularly appealing. Monthly payments are often lower than those for larger family SUVs, while many models still offer generous boot space, modern technology and efficient hybrid or petrol engines. With more manufacturers entering the compact crossover market, there are now dozens of options available.

Whether you’re looking for a stylish city-friendly SUV, a practical family runabout or an electrified model to cut running costs, leasing gives you the flexibility to drive one of the latest vehicles without the long-term commitment of buying.
To help narrow down the choice, we’ve rounded up some of the best small SUVs to lease, highlighting the models that stand out for value, practicality, technology and overall driving experience.

What's the best small SUV?
Skoda Kamiq

The Skoda Kamiq is the brand’s smallest SUV. It shares its underpinnings with the Volkswagen Polo and Skoda’s sister car, the Scala.
Despite its petite stature, the Kamiq is largely practical, offering a 400-litre boot with the rear seats in place, a low loading lip, clever storage solutions such as cargo nets and hooks, and a two-level boot floor.

Likewise, several trim choices are ranging from the entry-level SE to the range-topping Monte Carlo Edition. That said, the SE is offered with stacks of standard tech, including full LED headlights, a virtual cockpit with sat-nav, a rearview camera, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You should also see upwards of 50mpg on longer runs regardless of engine choice.
The Skoda Kamiq is priced from £25,520; however, you can have one for as little as £220 per month* at Select Car Leasing.
Ford Puma

Although the Ford Fiesta has retired, the Puma does a fine job at stepping up to the task. Like the Fiesta before it, the Puma is offered in a host of trims from the entry-level Titanium to the spicy ST. Buyers can also choose a mild-hybrid engine or the Puma Gen-E, the all-electric version.
Out of the box, the Puma gets LED headlights, a heated front windscreen, cruise control, heated mirrors, keyless start, and lane-keep assist as standard. Albeit small, the 1.0-litre turbocharged engine puts out between 123 and 168bhp depending on the chosen model – and it’ll return between 45 and 53mpg.
The Ford Puma is priced from £27,130. Select Car Leasing website offer deals from just £210 per month*.
Peugeot 2008

The Peugeot 2008 is up there with the best practical and affordable cars available. While there are plenty of options available, ranging from a hybrid to EV, we’ll stick with the most affordable Allure trim for now, with the 1.2-litre 100 with the manual transmission. In this spec, the 2008 should return around 50mpg on longer runs.
Buyers can expect to see front and rear parking sensors, Peugeot i-Connect, hill start assist, cruise control and a six-speaker sound system as standard. Stepping up to the Allure edition for an additional £1,200 unlocks heated door mirrors, a rearview camera, and wireless phone charging.

It’ll comfortably fit a family of five, and there’s a 434-litre boot. Therefore, prams and luggage won’t be an issue. It’s worth noting, however, that the 2008 has a high boot lip, which can make loading heavier items awkward.
Need a Peugeot 2008 in your life? One can be yours for just £225 per month* at Select Car Leasing.
Nissan Juke
![]()
There’s a reason why the Nissan Juke is so popular — it offers bang for the buck. Starting at £24,265, the Juke is one of the most affordable cars on our list, and it’s packed with standard tech, including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a rearview camera, ambient lighting, and lots of safety tech, as well as USB-C charging ports.

The base 1.0-litre petrol produces 112bhp, making it nippy enough for the daily commute, and it’ll return around 49mpg on longer runs. Buyers can also choose from manual and automatic gearboxes. More powerful engines are available if needed, but that will mean moving up the trim levels.
A Nissan Juke can be sat on your driveway from £214 per month* via Select Car Leasing.
Renault Captur

If the Clio is too small, the Renault Captur might be the answer. Buyers can choose from three trims: evolution, techno and esprit Alpine. It’s also available as a petrol or full-hybrid depending on your needs. Opt for the entry-level car, and you’ll have £5 change from £22,500.

As standard, the Captur gets a rearview camera, cruise control, rear parking sensors, climate control, and driver attention alert. As usual, the mid-spec techno adds a bit more flavour for not a lot more. Spec this trim, and you’ll get adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, a modular boot floor, heated mirrors, and a 10.4-inch multimedia screen.
Select Car Leasing has deals for a new Renault Captur for just £239 per month*.
Renault 4 E-Tech

I adore this car so much that I recently purchased one. It’s a real breath of fresh air in the growing all-electric small SUV market, and there are some good deals out there, too.
It might not have the largest range, but the Renault 4 E-Tech is perfect for those who don’t do interstellar mileage and require a bit more space than its sibling, the Renault 5.

Priced from £26,995, the R4 features a 52kWh battery, giving it a 241-mile range, although this is closer to 183 miles in real-world driving. It’ll charge at 100kW; however, you’ll get the most out of the R4 by tying up a deal with a 7.4kW home wallbox and a cheap overnight energy tariff.
If the quirky Renault 4 ticks your boxes, check out Select Car Leasing’s £168 per month* special offer.
Dacia Duster

Amidst a technology uprising, it’s nice to see that there are still just cars out there, like the Dacia Duster.
Sure, you can equip it with some gizmos, but the Duster remains true to itself; it’s a car that’ll get you from A to B with little fuss. And if you often traverse mountains, there’s a four-wheel drive variant.
Those who enjoyed Dusters of old, powered by the devil’s fuel (diesel), may be disappointed to see hybrid-only options in the new line-up. However, don’t knock it until you’ve tried it.

In its base form, the mild hybrid produces 140 bhp to the front wheels and returns around 52mpg. The full hybrid gives more poke and adds 8mpg, while the 4x4, available only as a mild hybrid, is good for around 47mpg.
It’s simple but effective, and one can be had for just £234 per month* at Select Car Leasing.
Jeep Avenger

The Jeep Avenger is offered in three trims and starts at £29,999, making it one of the more expensive cars on our list. However, buyers get full LED headlights, heated mirrors, adjustable passenger and driver’s seats, cruise control, and rear parking sensors to boot.

All Avengers are front-wheel drive, although they feature Jeep’s Selec-terrain and hill-descent technology. If four-wheel drive is required, you’ll need to look at the Avenger 4xe. With the 1.2-litre petrol engine, the Avenger will return around 50mpg on longer runs.
What makes the Jeep Avenger more attractive are its lease deals. Expect a new Jeep Avenger to cost from £240 to £280 per month* at Select Car Leasing.
Kia Niro

Think of the Kia Niro as the Korean brand’s answer to the Skoda Karoq and Toyota C-HR. It’s available as a plug-in hybrid or a mild hybrid with prices starting at £30,845. To keep things simple, Kia offers three trim levels with both, and one engine choice: a 1.6-litre petrol.
As always, both Niro comes with the usual Kia standard tech, like a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, smart cruise control, a touchscreen, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Moreover, Kia’s seven-year warranty means you’re protected should any gremlins show face.

Spec the mild hybrid, and you should see around 60mpg on long runs, while the plug-in variant is claimed to offer 353mpg, although we’d take this with a pinch of salt.
Fancy a Kia Niro? Select Car Leasing offers deals from £315 per month*.
Lexus LBX
.jpg)
For those who require something a little more opulent, the Lexus LBX might do the trick. Think of the LBX as a Japanese noodle-bar that’s been Europeanised. It’s like the Wagamama of small SUVs.
It runs a similar hybrid system to the Toyota Yaris Cross, meaning it gets a 1.5-litre engine and an electric motor. On longer journeys, you should see around 60mpg. Lexus says the four-wheel drive car will return the same, but I’ve yet to test that theory.

Despite its smaller dimensions, there’s still a respectable 402 litres of boot space, and the square load area and adjustable boot floor make squeezing in larger items easy.
It’s posh but affordable, easy to drive, efficient and can be yours from just £213 per month* at Select Car Leasing.
