Good news if you’re in the market for a space-age electric SUV - because Nissan has just made its Ariya more affordable.

The sumptuous Ariya has been turning heads ever since it arrived on UK shores last year. It’s a stunning rival to the Tesla Model Y, Kia EV6, and Skoda Enyaq iV.
And now Nissan has announced a price cut for all trim levels of its flagship. Models with the smaller 63 kWh will be reduced by £3,000 and all of the 87 kWh variants will be reduced by £3,750. The Ariya entry price is now £39,645.
That obviously relates to purchasing the Ariya outright but it’s a price drop that should also be reflected in your monthly lease fee.

The entry-level model is the ‘Engage’ trim, which you can lease with Select from around £467 per month*.
It’s ‘accessible and well-equipped’, says Nissan, and handily, you can lease it with either of the two battery sizes, which brings you a maximum range of either 251 or 330 miles.
You get LED headlamps with high-beam assist, heated and folding mirrors, large 19 inch alloys, twin 12-inch screens in the cabin, full Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and sat nav with Nissan’s ‘virtual personal assistant’, which includes voice control with Amazon Alexa built in.

Sitting at the very top of the Ariya tree is the fully-loaded Evolve+ trim.
While the cheapest Ariya has power of 217 hp, this Evolve+ model ratchets the performance up to 388 hp, combined with 600 Nm of torque. That’s enough to propel the all-wheel drive Evolve+ Ariya from 0-62 mph in just 5.1 seconds.
To give you an idea of just how rapid that is, it’s faster than the standard Porsche Taycan.
The Evolve+ also features an opening panoramic sunroof, head-up display, power-adjustable centre console and steering column, a Bose 10-speaker stereo, temperature-controlled front seats, 20-inch alloy wheels with aero covers, and a rich, Nappa Blue leather seat trim.
It’s also good to remember that the Ariya was named Auto Express 2022 Car Of The Year last year, so you’re leasing a genuine award winner.
