- Ferrari Amalfi Spider revealed
- Soft-top variant of the Amalfi coupe
- Same 3.9-litre V8 delivering 640 hp
- Traditional canvas roof opens in 13.5 seconds
- Prices TBC - but it’s expected to cost around £220,000

Ferrari has unveiled a new Spider convertible version of its elegant Amalfi - and it’s a supercar well worth feasting your eyes on.
The Amalfi coupe was launched last year as a replacement for the equally-attractive Ferrari Roma, powered by a 3.9-litre V8 delivering 640 hp.

The new Amalfi Spider retains that same powertrain but jettisons the fixed roof in favour of a traditional canvas soft top that unlocks the ‘pleasure of open-top motoring, making every journey more engaging’, Ferrari tells us.
The Amalfi Spider retains the ‘2+’ seating layout, which means there are two proper seats in the front and two tiny seats in the rear suitable for children or for increasing load capacity on longer trips.

Ferrari Amalfi Spider - preserving the proportions of the coupe
The Ferrari Amalfi coupe is already one of the prettiest supercars in the Prancing Horse portfolio and the Spider convertible seeks to preserve and enhance those proportions.
The canvas roof and folding mechanism adds just 86kg to the overall weight and opens in 13.5 seconds. It can also be operated at speeds up to 37mph.

The roof is just 220mm thick, which means you still get 172 litres of luggage space with the roof down, and 255 litres with it in place.
The front of the Amalfi Spider is defined by its long bonnet and large air intake while there’s an integrated active spoiler at the rear.

What engine powers the Ferrari Amalfi Spider?
Under that elongated bonnet sits a 3.9-litre V8 twin-turbo from Ferrari’s award-winning ‘F154 family’.
It delivers 640 hp at 7,500 rpm and allows the Amalfi Spider to accelerate from 0-62mph in just 3.3 seconds - which is precisely the same as the Amalfi coupe.
Top speed maxes out at 199mph. Again, that’s the same as for the Amalfi coupe.

How much is the Ferrari Amalfi Spider?
The Amalfi is billed as Ferrari’s ‘entry-level’ supercar, but it still ain’t cheap.
The coupe begins at around £205,000 and while prices haven’t yet been confirmed, we’d expect the soft top Spider to begin at £220,000.
