- DS No4 revealed
- Replacement for existing DS 4
- Electric, plug-in hybrid and hybrid powertrains
- Due to arrive early in 2026

French manufacturer DS is readying to launch the ‘dynamic’ new No4 - which will replace the existing DS 4 in the firm’s range.
DS - once an off-shoot of Citroen and now very much its own entity - is on a mission to posh-ify its products.

Speaking earlier this year, DS design director Thierry Métroz said they wanted to create cars with interiors to rival Bentley or Rolls-Royce as it bids to become the ‘Louis Vuitton of the automotive industry’.
You can already lease the upmarket DS No8, an electric SUV-coupe that competes with the likes of the Polestar 4.
And now this, the No4, will join the DS ranks at the beginning of 2026, where it’ll attempt to do battle with other premium hatchbacks like the Audi A3, BMW 1 Series and VW Golf.

So, what do we know so far?
Well, the DS No4 certainly looks the part, with its striking illuminated front face and a sculpted rear that brings to mind the Jaguar I-PACE

The No4 will be available to lease in three distinct flavours; fully-electric, plug-in hybrid, and a mild hybrid.
The ‘E-Tense’ electric model gets a 58.3 kWh battery, 213 hp, 343 Nm of torque, and a reasonable range of up to 280 miles between charges.
An 11kW on-board charger comes as standard while DC rapid charging tops out at 120 kWh, letting you recover a range of 62 miles in 11 minutes.

The current DS 4 can already be enjoyed as a plug-in hybrid with an EV range of up to 35 miles. The new DS No4 will improve on that with a range of up to 50 miles using electricity alone while power of 225 hp and 360 Nm is decent for the class.
The No4 Hybrid, meanwhile, makes use of a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 28 hp electric motor that’s integrated into the six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Like lots of other mild-hybrid powertrains from DS’s parent company Stellantis, the No4 will be able to travel for short distances using nothing but the electric motor - which is handy for creeping forwards in stop-start traffic or when parking.

There are two trims; Pallas and Etoile.
The entry-level Pallas grade gets ‘Diamond Tungsten’ fabric upholstery, a dash with tortoiseshell effect and bronze inserts. Standard kit includes dual-zone air con, LED lights, front and rear parking sensors with a reversing camera, a 10-inch touchscreen, and wireless phone charging.

The Etoile trim adds Alcantara upholstery and an Alcantara dash, the DS AI-powered ‘Iris’ infotainment system, Matrix LED headlights, power front seats, tinted rear glass, and the DS ‘Drive Assist’ pack, which comes with adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane positioning assist.
Besides the trims, there are also various optional packs, which can add goodies like a head-up display, brown Nappa leather, or massaging and ventilated seats.

The DS No4 will arrive in the UK at the beginning of 2026.
