Nissan unveils ‘Max-Out’ concept

Nissan could be about to launch a new two-seat electric convertible, if this ‘Max Out’ concept is anything to go by.

There’s certainly room in the Nissan line-up for a full-blown sports car, as there hasn’t been anything similar to the Max-Out concept since the 370Z Roadster, which bowed-out in 2016.

The Nissan GT-R is also, sadly, no longer sold here in Europe.

But the wait could soon be over for those in search of a performance Nissan.

The Max-Out made its debut at the ‘Nissan Futures’ event, a bash designed to show how the Japanese firm is ‘shaping the future of sustainable mobility and innovative design’.

Speaking about the Max-Out, a Nissan spokesperson said:

”Created on the fundamental concept of being one with the car, the Nissan Max-Out two-seater convertible is designed to provide a liberating sense of openness while offering an enhanced, dynamic driving experience.
“The Max-Out displays Nissan’s innovation to develop a diverse range of advanced and striking vehicles, with a clear vision of how they can benefit both individuals and society.”

You can watch a video reveal of the Max-Out on Nissan’s YouTube channel.

There’s no word yet on what might be powering the Max-Out, or what sort of range it gets between charges.

But commentators have been quick to applaud the ‘retro-neo’ lines of the concept, and many have also compared it to the classic Nissan 300ZX (below) from the 1980s and 90s.

Only time will tell if the Max-Out ever gets built - so watch this space.

For now, you’ll have to get your electric thrills with the Nissan Ariya SUV, which has power of up to 306 bhp and a 0-62 mph acceleration time of just 5.7 seconds.

I had a few problems with delivery dates. But Paolo worked hard to find a solution and came up with a good outcome.
