Looking for a pick-up truck that’s rugged enough to go just about anywhere? The new AT37 concept from Isuzu could be just the ticket.
The D-Max-based truck has taken the popular Arctic Trucks AT35 and turned up the dial, making it bigger and bolder than ever before.
The D-Max Arctic Trucks AT37 is equipped with an adjustable Bilstein performance suspension system, which has 10 different settings for a customised off-road experience, while the front and rear differentials have been upgraded, and additional front and rear elevation increases have been installed. The corners are shod with 37-inch BFGoodrich KM3 Mud-Terrain tyres, showing that this truck really means business. The AT37 casts an imposing shadow, standing a full 140mm taller than the standard D-Max.
Like the AT35, the AT37 concept truck has been extensively re-engineered by the experts at Arctic Trucks, with modifications from a reinforced frame and widened fender flares to extended profile side steps.
Isuzu unveiled the AT37 at the Commercial Vehicle Show, adding front spotlights, a storage box with load bay sliding drawers, a winch, an expedition roof rack, and a pop-up tent, making it well equipped for far-flung adventures.
Alan Able, Isuzu UK managing director: "The Isuzu D-Max Arctic Trucks AT37 is a testament to our commitment to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the realm of utility vehicles. It embodies the spirit of adventure and resilience that Isuzu owners have come to expect, and we're thrilled to showcase it at this year’s CV Show."
Peter Smith, Arctic Trucks UK managing director: "Our long-standing collaboration with Isuzu UK has been a true meeting of minds. The new D-Max AT37 represents the culmination of over three decades of relentless innovation and adventure-driven design philosophy and we’re proud to debut it together at this year’s Commercial Vehicle Show."
Isuzu has described the AT37 as “the most imposing vehicle ever crafted by Isuzu,” “a new zenith in the D-Max line-up,” and a vehicle that “promises to redefine the boundaries of what's possible on and off the road.” Despite the success of the D-Max AT35, and that rather wordy set of high praise, there are currently no plans to put the AT37 into production.
