Ford continues industry dominance

Ford continue to exert their dominance over the automotive industry, with the North American manufacturer enjoying 326,643 new-car registrations for 2014. A figure that remains streets ahead of any other manufacturer. Ford executives will be hoping that they can continue the giddy heights achieved over the last few years, and replicate these seemingly unwavering statistics in 2015 and the following years. Ford were also top for new-car reg's in 2012 and 2013 and have, if anything, increased the distance between them and second placed Vauxhall who finished the year with 269,177 registrations. The confidence exuded by Ford has perhaps been highlighted by the most recent itteration of the Ford GT Supercar being announced - a clear indication that Ford is prepared to mix with the ''big-boys''.

December was a particularly impressive month for Ford where they racked up over 20,000 individual new-car sales. Not bad in what is typically considered a somewhat dry-spell for the industry as buyers contend with the additional expense of the festive season. This gave Ford a 12% share of the monthly market which was not enough to trump Vauxhall who pipped them with a controlling 13% share. The month, however, proved fruitful and continued Ford's trend of improving monthly sales in comparison to 2013. Over 1,000 more Ford's were registered in 2014 than the year before.

Ford Leasing

It is the overall figures where Ford's dominance cannot be underestimated. With a winning share in the yearly market of over 13%, Ford finished the year with an increase of upto 5% on last year's sales. Although interestingly, despite a higher sales markup they still failed to control as much of the market as the previous year - indicative of the boom the industry is enjoying and the enhanced competition from manufacturers. The BVRLA has forecasted that car leasing and deals have, and will continue to have, an increased influence on registration figures and it's undoubted that this growing market contributed significantly to Ford's success.

Ford also boasted two of the best selling vehicles in 2014, with the most recent edition of the iconic Ford Fiesta topping the table with an incredible 131,254 new car-registrations and the Ford Focus running a not-so-close second with 85,140. These two vehicles have become a staple of the British motoring scene and are often considered two of the most reliable and dependable vehicles on the market - hence their high position on the ladder.

Ford Lease Deals from Select Contracts

The Ford Focus was also the 7th most popular vehicle to be leased by sales associates, and although official figures are still pending, Ford will likely be towards the top of the leasing tree with one of the most diversive and dynamic ranges they have ever showcased. In the current Ford range there is literally something for everyone, and we'll be happy to quote on any of their impressive vehicles in Ford Leasing.
