Which Subaru Crosstrek trim level should I lease?

Limited

Limited

The entry-level Subaru Crosstrek Limited trim features 17-inch alloys, rear privacy glass, heated front seats, an 11.6-inch infotainment system, and safety tech such as adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency steering.

Touring

The range-topping Touring trim adds larger 18-inch alloys, a power sliding and tilt sunroof, sat nav, an uprated 'X-MODE' off-road system, and paddle shifts for the automatic transmission.

What vehicles are similar to the Subaru Crosstrek that I should consider?

The Subaru Crosstrek offers something unique in the leasing world - but there are still alternatives:

Ford Puma Hatchback

Ford Puma Hatchback

The plucky Puma is more economical than the Crosstrek and boasts sleek styling, but there’s no 4x4 option.

Hyundai Kona Hatchback

Hyundai Kona Hatchback

The Kona competes with a host of crossovers in the leasing market, including the Kia Niro, and it’s available as a frugal hybrid.

Mini Countryman Hatchback

Mini Countryman Hatchback

Like the Subaru Crosstrek, the MINI Countryman can handle some light off-road work when it’s leased in ‘ALL4’ all-wheel drive form.

Skoda Karoq Estate

Skoda Karoq Estate

The Karoq is Skoda’s midsize SUV, and sits between the smaller Kamiq and the larger Kodiaq.

About the Subaru Crosstrek SUV

In 2012, Subaru introduced the XV - a sturdy compact crossover designed to tackle the tough stuff. Fast forward to 2023, and the XV was overhauled, renamed and relaunched as the ‘Crosstrek’ - which is what you see here.

It is unashamedly for lease customers who live an outdoorsy and active lifestyle, while Subaru also says the Crosstrek offers ‘safety, driving enjoyment and durability’.

The Crosstrek is underpinned by a 2.0 litre mild-hybrid ‘e-BOXER’ engine - a four-cylinder, horizontally-opposed unit which is one of Subaru’s big fortes.

You can also expect permanent all-wheel drive, 220 mm of ground clearance, and an ‘X-MODE’ switch that turns you into an expert off-roader at the touch of a button.

Why lease a Subaru Crosstrek?

When the Subaru XV was renamed ‘Crosstrek’ in 2023, that makeover also brought with it style and tech updates.

The overhaul added sharper and more dynamic lines, new cladding on the front grille and wheel arches, a raised bonnet, and a more assured stance in general.

The Subaru Crosstrek is adept off road, coming with all-wheel drive as standard and an ‘X-MODE’ set-up that takes control of the engine, transmission, AWD system and brakes for optimal traction on slippery surfaces and steep inclines.

The Crosstrek has also been cleverly-designed to reduce road sickness, thanks to head-shaking preventing seats and measures that significantly reduce cabin sound pressure.
