Why lease a Polestar?
Sustainability is at the heart of Polestar's mission, with an emphasis on minimalism and efficiency. Yet Polestar was also founded with performance in mind.
Polestar's roots can be traced back to 'Flash Engineering', a Swedish motorsport team first established in 1996 and which competed in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship.
That ethos lives on today, and you'll find blisteringly-quick 'Performance' versions of the Polestar 2, Polestar 4 and flagship Polestar 3.
The Polestar brand was acquired by Volvo before eventually falling under the umbrella of majority owners Geely, a Chinese mega-manufacturer that also oversees Volvo and Lotus.
The Polestar range consists of the Polestar 2 'fastback' saloon, the sleek Polestar 4 SUV-coupe, and the sporty Polestar 3. Perhaps confusingly, it's the Polestar 3 which represents Polestar's top-rung, flagship model, being a premium rival to vehicles like the BMW iX and the Volvo EX90.
The Polestar 4, meanwhile, continues to make headlines for ditching the traditional rear window (you'll see a body-coloured panel there instead) while instead using a camera system that relays images to a rear-view screen inside the cabin.
The Polestar 2, meanwhile, is an established rival to the Tesla Model 3 while also being a leasing alternative to cars like the BYD Seal, VW ID.7 and BMW i4.

Polestar Frequently Asked Quesitons
Electrified powertrains, ice-cold design and minimalist styling - there’s a lot to love about Polestar. The Swedish manufacturer, founded in 2017 by Volvo Cars and China’s Geely Holding, offers a sumptuous range of vehicles that are quintessentially Scandinavian, boasting eye-catching exteriors with razor-sharp lines. And there’s one main competitor that Polestar has firmly in its sights… Tesla.
The Polestar 2 is the most popular vehicle in the firm’s range of electric performance cars. It’s a fully-electric fastback to rival the likes of the Tesla Model 3, and recent updates have made the Polestar 2 even more attractive for lease customers.
The range-topping ‘Long range Dual motor’ Polestar 2 has a large 78 kWh battery, potent power of 408 hp and a range of between 279-298 miles
The Polestar 2 has received the maximum five stars from the Euro NCAP safety assessment programme while also being praised for being equipped, as standard, with a multi-collision braking system - which applies the brakes immediately after an impact to prevent the vehicle from being involved in secondary impacts.
While the Polestar 3 is a head-turning SUV crossover to rival the Tesla Model Y or the Audi e-tron, it’s the Polestar 2 fastback that’s the most affordable to lease. The entry-level ‘Standard Range Single Motor’ model was revamped to offer a larger 64 kWh battery with power of 224 hp and a range of 260-273 miles.
Leasing a Polestar 2 puts you in a similar monthly leasing price bracket as the Audi Q4 e-tron Sportback, Volkswagen ID.4 or the Tesla Model 3. Meanwhile the Polestar 3 performance SUV goes toe-to-toe with rivals like the Mercedes-Benz EQC and BMW iX.
Other brands that are similar to Polestar include Tesla, Audi, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Volkswagen.
